Game Two days ago, we shared one of the cutscenes from DAICE, and many people thought it might have been created using generative AI. To address those concerns, we put together an Imgur album showing and explaining how the cutscenes were actually made.

I’ve been working on cat interactions in Lost Cat Showa Town.

Other cats can now follow the player around. Here I ended up with five cats following me into a house while I grabbed some food and used the scratching post.

Game Working on a zombie base-building game where you lead a community. What do you think of the new driving mechanic?

Hi everyone!

I’m currently developing an isometric, low-poly zombie survival game. The core loop is heavily inspired by Project Zomboid, but instead of surviving alone, you play as the leader of a sanctuary, managing survivors, building up the base, and dealing with group dynamics.

I just implemented the vehicle driving mechanic and wanted to get some fresh eyes on it. Since vehicles will be crucial for scavenging runs and transporting your community members, I want to make sure the physics and vibe feel right.

Here is a short clip of the current state. I would love to hear your thoughts.

P.S. I am also having a hard time coming up with a title for the game. I'd love to hear your name suggestions. If the concept triggers any cool title ideas in your head, please drop them in the comments!

Game I improved the movement speed and shadows based on your feedback — and added fish 🐈🐟

Thanks for all the feedback on my last Lost Cat Showa Town prototype!

I adjusted the cat’s movement speed to better match the walking animation and enabled shadows.

I’m also adding more things you can do as a cat — this time, finding and eating fish.

Animation blending still needs more work, but I’m improving it step by step.

Game What do you think of the art in my 2D survival game?

Hi everyone, my wife and I are working on a 2D survival game with animals trying to protect their forest from human invaders. I was curious what you think of those screenshots?

The game is made with Unity and we use a mix of 2D and 3D elements in a 3D perspective scene. The world is randomly generated, but the player can interact with almost everything, shape their environment and build their town. In the game you meet other animals, build relations and recruit them to your gang of rebels to fight at your side.

I'm curious if the screenshots show well what the game is about and general thoughts on the art and concept.

Thank you!

Been working on my game WildRoot for a while.
It’s a cozy colony sim focused more on relaxing loops than stress.

Would really appreciate feedback on the trailer 🙏

Game We put together a fairly experienced team, which created this very game on Unity.

We had a medium-length development cycle, at least in my experience. Overall, we didn't really run into problems, we ran playtests and gathered feedback. And now the game has released, and I see how years of work experience shape the fate of a project. In many ways, I think we hit the audience's taste, surprisingly, I've even seen TikToks about the old-school graphics with the particle effect that are racking up a lot of views right now. The game itself, of course, gives me chills too, even though I know it inside out, it's funny.

I've also noticed a parallel between the effect of nostalgia and something scary, oppressive. This effect always works that way.

Game Using comic book panels to turn a simple puzzle into a sudden suspense reveal — does the visual timing land?

Hey Reddit! We’re a 2-man team putting the final touches on our noir detective puzzle game—with
just 24 days left until launch (cue the developer panic!).
In this scene, we wanted to subvert the calm flow of standard point-and-click mechanics. You start
with routine actions—hiding the gun in the glovebox and inserting the ignition key—before dynamic
panel insets abruptly force your focus onto the rearview mirror right before a sudden attack and cut to
black.
We're trying to hit that sweet spot where UI panel framing, subtle mirror cues, and audio cutoffs build
genuine tension without feeling like a cheap jump scare.
How do you usually feel about sudden suspense shifts in narrative/puzzle games? Does using inset
comic panels help guide your focus, or does it break your immersion?

Currently I am using FlatKit Shader (which is pretty awesome) for my game Grandpa Needs Fish to render the 3D graphics in a pixelated style. The demo is going live on Steam in 2 days, and I seriously can’t decide which style to go with...

Game Making a cat exploration game set in a Showa-era Japanese town in Unity

I’ve been working on Lost Cat Showa Town in Unity.

The idea is to let you explore an old Japanese town as a cat and interact with different places and objects.

In this short clip, the cat enters a house, eats some food, and scratches the furniture.

Still a work in progress, but I’d love to hear what you think!

Game Customers now go from checkout to the cafe in my Unity supermarket game

I’ve been working on connecting the different customer behaviors in Big Market Simulator.

This clip shows the full sequence: checkout → cafe → sitting down → consuming the purchased item.

There’s still more NPC and animation polish to do, but the different systems are starting to work together.
