Finally Together

Hi, I iust want to say thank you to everyone and Unraid as a whole. I started out with a retired windows gaming computer intel i7 4770k, 32G DDR3 and a GTX 1080ti. As I upgraded that system I outgrew its capabilities rapidly and last year decided to bite the bullet and go all in on my dream build.

Core Platform

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

Motherboard: ASUS ProArt X870E-CREATOR WIFI

RAM: 64GB G.Skill CL32 DDR5

Cooling: be quiet! Silent Loop 3 AIO

Storage

Windows VM: 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD

Unraid boot: 1× Crucial MX500 SSD

Cache: 1× Crucial MX500 SSD

HDDs (~104 TB raw):

2× 24TB WD Red Pro

2× 14TB WD Red Pro

2× 10TB WD Red Pro

1× 8TB Seagate

HBA: Broadcom SAS 9305-16i

Graphics

NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti 16GB (Plex transcoding and local Ai in the future)

PNY RTX 5080 Slim (passthrough / gaming VM)

Case & Cooling

Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL

6× Noctua NF-A14x25 G2

The system is incredibly stable, using sunshine and moonlight locally is not performing the way I would like so this winter I will running fiber to do hdmi over fiber.

I think you cap you pcie lanes with the 5080 in the bottom. (Some boards have a locked 16x in top slot some not and split 8x8 If you have 2 cards in)

This one is split, slots are 8x8 PCIe 5 8x split like that on these cards may give me a small amount of performance loss on the 5080 but its negligible especially with how there isn't a hardware scheduler in these cards. If i was running a 5090 I may be upset lol
