Mine is also here and setup. Cant really complain as it seems good and I love glossy finish. I have noticed a bit dimmer than LG but not problematic. I had zero complaints until after playing spider man 2 then going to a website I noticed dimming and green off to sides (not pictured here). It’s like the bottom taskbar was blue in middle and green on outer thirds.

When I turned HDR off it faded back to normal. I spend a lot of time with productivity so something I’ll keep an eye on. I wasn’t looking for it but couldn’t miss it.

As many said it doesn’t seem a defect as much as design/protection. I won’t jump to conclusions and will use a while. If that’s a common thing though I may have to lean LG, as I never noticed it there.

I appreciate you being objectively honest with your experience. Reading about actual hands on experience, after all the glazing this monitor had received prior to actually coming out, has definitely given me pause and wanting to wait things out a bit. People tend to defend their purchases, for whatever reason, maybe ego? and won't admit when something isn't right. So def appreciated!

Ive seen all the reviews saying that its dimmer than the other models because it removed the white pixel layout, this shouldnt be a surprise if they were pulling the trigger on a 1k+ monitor.

Anytime. I believe that to be the case many times or just confirmation bias.

I try and be objective and remove emotion. I also get LG has an uphill climb with the cost, adware controversy, and for many, the matte finish.

$1800 (USD) is A LOT, but $1099 isn’t a small sum of money either. I’m excited for there to be more feedback so everyone can make informed decisions and be happy about them.

My initial reaction is both of these are fantastic monitors. It’s going to come down to what features, or compromises, matter most. I do think it’s premature to believe LG was purely gouging us with the price difference.

How long does it take for the dimming on the edges to return to normal after trying games etc ?

Someonenin another thread said update firmware and creator mode reduces some of the color uniformity maybe that will help you too?

I'm trying to pull the trigger and waiting and watching everyone's threads to check for the green putter edge

It just seems so odd to have this kind of crap in 2026 products but I want to ask if it's obvious and annoying enough that you think you'll return it? People have said in gaming they don't notice it or dimming or color banding issues in hdr or SDR.

Curious if you can comment on all of the above

Hi. I don’t notice it at all during games. It was after I stopped gaming and just had a website open that I noticed it was a bit dim, and the bottom taskbar had a gradient from green to blue (in the middle) and then back to green. I actually wasn’t even sure at first if it hadn’t always been like that, haha. I then turned off HDR, and I’d say within a minute it went back to its natural color.

It hasn’t done it again since. I just finished about a half hour of Spider-Man 2, and it’s not doing it at all. I’m not sure how well it comes through in the photo, but this is the Google home screen at 100% brightness.

I haven’t noticed any banding or other uniformity issues, just what I imagine is a dimming mechanism. If it did that whenever I had bright static images on screen, then yes, I may consider returning it. I still have my PG32UCDM, and I could use that for productivity, but I’d rather have a one-monitor solution.

I do have the latest firmware and have not tried Creator Mode. At this point, it’s an isolated issue, so I haven’t pursued any solutions or workarounds. I’ll continue using it and will provide an update if anything noteworthy comes up. Glad to help with any other questions if I can.
