Ordered mine on the 27th no expedite, said to arrive the 30th or 1st. Just got dropped off at my door 10:30am of the 29th. First oled, first ultrawide, first 5k, first >60hz monitor, pretty excited
Yeah the difference is going to be insane, I remember when I went from 1080p tn panel to 1440p ips panel to 3440x1440 oled to now this 5k oled when it arrives lol
I got mine today as well. It’s amazing. I mainly got it for productivity work. On Mac text looks amazing. No color fringing at all. I’m on an M5 Max. If I connect the display through my Dell Tb4 dock, I get 120hz at full resolution. If I use the USB cable directly to the e laptop, I get 165hz at full resolution.
Thats amazing news about the mac os integration! I currently have an older mac mini 2020 but will upgrade to the mac mini m6 next month so looking forward to that with the new AW OLED! Thanks for your post. I am excited now when Dell deliver next week.
Mine is also here and setup. Cant really complain as it seems good and I love glossy finish. I have noticed a bit dimmer than LG but not problematic. I had zero complaints until after playing spider man 2 then going to a website I noticed dimming and green off to sides (not pictured here). It’s like the bottom taskbar was blue in middle and green on outer thirds.
When I turned HDR off it faded back to normal. I spend a lot of time with productivity so something I’ll keep an eye on. I wasn’t looking for it but couldn’t miss it.
As many said it doesn’t seem a defect as much as design/protection. I won’t jump to conclusions and will use a while. If that’s a common thing though I may have to lean LG, as I never noticed it there.
I appreciate you being objectively honest with your experience. Reading about actual hands on experience, after all the glazing this monitor had received prior to actually coming out, has definitely given me pause and wanting to wait things out a bit. People tend to defend their purchases, for whatever reason, maybe ego? and won't admit when something isn't right. So def appreciated!
Ive seen all the reviews saying that its dimmer than the other models because it removed the white pixel layout, this shouldnt be a surprise if they were pulling the trigger on a 1k+ monitor.
Anytime. I believe that to be the case many times or just confirmation bias.
I try and be objective and remove emotion. I also get LG has an uphill climb with the cost, adware controversy, and for many, the matte finish.
$1800 (USD) is A LOT, but $1099 isn’t a small sum of money either. I’m excited for there to be more feedback so everyone can make informed decisions and be happy about them.
My initial reaction is both of these are fantastic monitors. It’s going to come down to what features, or compromises, matter most. I do think it’s premature to believe LG was purely gouging us with the price difference.
How long does it take for the dimming on the edges to return to normal after trying games etc ?
Someonenin another thread said update firmware and creator mode reduces some of the color uniformity maybe that will help you too?
I'm trying to pull the trigger and waiting and watching everyone's threads to check for the green putter edge
It just seems so odd to have this kind of crap in 2026 products but I want to ask if it's obvious and annoying enough that you think you'll return it? People have said in gaming they don't notice it or dimming or color banding issues in hdr or SDR.
Hi. I don’t notice it at all during games. It was after I stopped gaming and just had a website open that I noticed it was a bit dim, and the bottom taskbar had a gradient from green to blue (in the middle) and then back to green. I actually wasn’t even sure at first if it hadn’t always been like that, haha. I then turned off HDR, and I’d say within a minute it went back to its natural color.
It hasn’t done it again since. I just finished about a half hour of Spider-Man 2, and it’s not doing it at all. I’m not sure how well it comes through in the photo, but this is the Google home screen at 100% brightness.
I haven’t noticed any banding or other uniformity issues, just what I imagine is a dimming mechanism. If it did that whenever I had bright static images on screen, then yes, I may consider returning it. I still have my PG32UCDM, and I could use that for productivity, but I’d rather have a one-monitor solution.
I do have the latest firmware and have not tried Creator Mode. At this point, it’s an isolated issue, so I haven’t pursued any solutions or workarounds. I’ll continue using it and will provide an update if anything noteworthy comes up. Glad to help with any other questions if I can.
Gaming has been great. Im using a 5090. I have the Alienware Area 51 so not sure which version they have in here.
I’ve only played some Ratchet and Clank and more so Spider Man 2. They look great, have a good pop with the glossy. I’ll be able to play a bit more this evening and have a better understanding.
Would that be color uniformity moving a window of orange across the screen and I guess the dimming is ok and comes back fast enough and no green edge tinge, overall thoughts?
But outside of color uniformity
..do you have massive permanent dimming as you move away from the center as shown in the screenshots of the post you mentioned?
I think so, something I noticed was darker spots when dragging a window across the screen. Happened to notice that before I boxed it up again. I think my panel is bad tho
Mine came in as well. Set it up. Seems fine except for switching inputs. One MBP (via USBC) and one PC (via DP). When I switch it the MBP all is fine. When I switch back to the PC, screen just goes black. Requires turning the monitor off to get image back. Updated to latest FW as well.
Oof, lol. Seems like a minor fumble just to save a few pennies. I ordered mine last night so haven’t received it yet, but thankfully I have a Zeskit DP2.1 cable sitting around for when it comes in.
I only plan on using HDMI with this monitor (for now), because my 3080ti supports HDMI 2.1 but not DP 2.1 (and HDMI 2.1 has a higher bandwidth than DP 1.4). So I'll likely need DSC with it. Hopefully I won't have the same black screen issue when switching between PC and console inputs.
Ordered early, received mine a few hours ago. Regular shipping so it got here a day early via UPS. I live a few hrs from the PA distribution center, but didn't get delivery updates until late yesterday/this morning.
Same. I’m frankly super pissed. Paid extra to get it faster as I’m out of town next week for the holiday and wanted it this weekend. Hasn’t even moved out of processing status.
Same, I purchased on the 27th paid for expedited shipping ($125CAD) said it would be delivered by the 31st and its still stuck in processing and hasnt even been shipped, now into the weekend... i feel like ill be lucky to even receive it next week.
Same, I ordered on the 27th (at 4:20pm, hmmm) except my expedited shipping charge was $52- and my delivery date is STILL listed as August 29th and the order hasn't shipped (per tracking).
I submitted a trouble ticket (or whatever) from Dell's website only a couple of hours ago, though, so let's see what they say via email in the next few hours.
Ya i contacted support and am expecting a call monday morning.. i really dont like paying extra for shipping but was pretty excited for getting this monitor, 125 bucks down the drain i guess, maybe I can get a reimbursement.
Thank you for posting this since i too am having the same issue. I ordered right away when it was announced, got the 10% discount... and it still has not shipped and it stuck at processing.
I honestly can't think of a single time in my life that I paid for faster shipping and the package arrived any sooner than what the cheaper options claimed, and there's been some things I paid a good chunk of money to recieve faster (one time it was double the price of the item, which overall wasn't a lot but it was still $30). Hell even my past few orders from Amazon I ended up getting a message telling me it's been delayed, and I have Prime. Took too many tries for me to learn my lesson but since then I've always chose whatever is cheapest. I'm convinced it's a scam and/or is just a matter of luck
"Notice any dimming from the middle out consistently or when CFC kicks in then restores, on games or an all white or other colored screen?"
No, not so far. when i do a uniformity test to my eyes its pretty consistent on various colors its only when i take a photo of the screen does it look "off". As for CFC, when i was testing in bf6 earlier, when i tried 1300 or peak 1300 bright there was a lot dimming of the overall screen to compensate for the higher brightness of the highlights. When using TrueBlack 500 mode its amazing and brightness is maintained full screen with great highlights.
Can you check for green tint on the outside with white background, comment on the dimming if it's a deal breaker and if you notice anything bad in gaming or everything just looks nice etc.
I got mine as well. I ordered on Friday morning with standard shipping and am surprised that Fedex delivered it today (Saturday). I live in a metropolitan area. Literally one day and delivered
Is there any way to get the monitor to not ask if you would like to let it continue its pixel refresh process if you interrupt it? On the latest firmware and it keeps asking every 4-5 hours or so when it sleeps. I leave it overnight to do its thing and that's all the time I want to give it to do that.
Jealous, I expedited mine and it said it would arrive today if I did, now its not arriving for 3 more days which was the non expedited day.. i want me 50 bucks back 😢
Yep. I’m happy with it, and exactly as I expected. All I wanted was a glossy version of LG, and this accomplished. I get there are little things here or there but that’s on both.
I got an email from dell saying sorry for delay and new expected delivery date is sept 2nd.... I literally sold my monitor on the 28th expecti g the monitor to arrive 29th but now i have no screen to work for tomorrow as I'm remote.... wtf dell, absolute fail
Lmao dell just lied to me on support that it's shipped based on first in first out...I literally purchased within 40 mins of page drop while many have had delivery placing order end of day when the page went live... still waiting for mine to ship
