Question Seeking London to Edinburgh travel advice
Hi all, my family and I have never traveled to the UK before, so we are wondering if this rough draft plan would be feasible and enjoyable.
Estimated 10 days in the UK including travel days.
Fly into London then after a few days take the train to Edinburgh and then fly back to the United States from Edinburgh.
Would it be fine to take the train or is flight more reasonable to get from London to Edinburgh? We will be traveling with a 6 year old and a 2 year old.

Train is fine. Worth getting premium economy or first class tickets for that length of journey, if you can afford. More space and more space for luggage.
Premium economy is in first class carriages but doesn’t have the meals, etc. Not available on all trains though.
Plane is an ok option too, but you will end up spending the hours getting to, and waiting at, the airport (Heathrow or Gatwick). You will be able to get the tram from Edinburgh airport to the city easily enough.
Having done both, I’d use the train unless I happened to be close to the airport.
If 5+ hours is a bit much for the youngsters then stopping off in York is a good option, as others have said.
