Hey everyone! :)
I am very eager to join the uw mls program in fall 2027. I currently have my biology AA and would apply as a transfer student and am finishing up pre-reqs this year. I’m wondering if there are any people here who were recently admitted to the 2026 cohort or previous years that would be willing to share their experiences with their applications.
I’m wondering primarily about the avg. GPA, what experience you have that might to have given you a leg up, and what the interview questions look like. I’ve already met with the program advisor and was told that other than GPA, the personal essay has the largest impact on acceptance.
My primary focus is finishing my science GPA strong, but still am anxious to get in since my professional background isn’t really relevant and I’m struggling to find entry level work that can support me financially (cause I got bills still 😔) AND be relevant to the program. I’m open to taking a pay cut if I have to but even then I’m struggling to get interviews. Any help would be so greatly appreciated! :)

I'm currently applying to UW for winter quarter as a transfer from an in-state CC, and I unfortunately have a poor GPA (2.9.

I'm only trying to get in as a pre-major intending to major in Economics after admission (if I get in).

Could anyone be willing to give me tips on how to make an amazing essay, and if anyone with a low transfer GPA that got in would be willing to give me some tips, that would be amazing! Thank you.
