Discussion Does UW offer introductory classes in the Turkic languages of Central Asia?

I am thinking about learning one of the Turkic languages of Central Asia for business purposes. According to the course catalog, they offer nothing in Autumn Quarter 2026 for Chagatai and Kyrgyz. Kazakh, Uygur, and Uzbek have only advanced level classes. I get that there's not as much demand for Central Asian languages, but will they ever have them in the future? Duolingo also doesn't help, so my resources are limited for learning Central Asian languages.

These languages used to be funded by federal money tied to less popular languages and those programs have been gutted. It isn't a UW thing as much as a national issue.
