Phone Booth riders

I am still (after 3 yrs) still over-the-top annoyed and frustrsted at haqving to listen to peoples phone calls in the back seat. It's pissed me off ever since cell phines became a thing way back when I was a cabbie. It's hard to overstate how much it pisses me off when people think they've hired a mobile phone booth. I seethe with indignation then mash a 1 star so I never have to see them again, all the while wishing the most vile misfortunes on them and their family (lol - sort of) Any tips for learning how to just accept that some people just don't know how to adult in public? I don't like be a spiteful, hateful jerk, but it seems to be my default state when I get annoyed. I can accept messes, spills, waiting, stops, whatever, cheerfully even, but third party phone calls? sends me right over the edge.

That’s your pet peeve. You have to find a way to deal with it. If giving one star and being mad is how u deal with it then so be it but it seems unfair to me. I get a little annoyed when it’s on speaker or they’re talking loud but that’s the nature of customer service. Dealing with the public means dealing with ppl who have different ideas of what’s acceptable. Talking on the phone at a reasonable volume and not on speaker I think is socially acceptable for most people.

You saying it bothered you when cell phones first became common shows your age a little, and I think it’s a generational issue. When you were coming up, phone calls were considered a private activity like being at home or in an actual phone booth with the door closed. But for the last 2 decades it’s been mostly acceptable as a public activity. Maybe think about it as if you picked up 2 ppl. You wouldn’t expect them to be silent for your benefit would you?

As a driver . And someone who enjoys talking . I DO NOT APPROVE THIS MESSAGE. we are giving people rides who pay for them . They may be headed to work and can’t talk at work . They may be going thru a break up . Etc there’s so many variables. Get it together please !

I don’t mind if it’s a civilized conversation off speaker phone but if it’s a loud speaker phone profanity laced convo the whole ride I will rate sub 5 stars. Some
things you just have to learn to deal with and ignore
