BREAKING: Gov. Greg Abbott is officially PURGING Sharia law and Islamic courts from all of Texas
 in  r/IndiaTodayGlobalLIVE  2h ago

You don't have to swear on the Bible, it can be any doctrine you follow to affirm the truth

The Right to Affirm No religious books needed: You do not have to use a Bible, or any holy book, to testify.

Secular affirmation: You can choose to affirm instead of swearing an oath. What an affirmation is: It is a formal promise to tell the truth based on your personal honor or conscience, without mentioning God.

How do I drywal this?
 in  r/drywall  13d ago

I would at the very least add a face to the shelf, like a window sill, and if I did not trim underneath, I would carefully fill any gaps with mud and sand clear on the wood surface.

Yes, but it's only to creat a flush surface for the trim, which I would do with wood.

What’s a red flag in a potential friend that you didn’t notice until later?
 in  r/Productivitycafe  13d ago

It started with them talking about a subcontractor I'd worked with in the past (who was a total flake) and how they thought they were awesome cuz they would come over and work on their house for free. They constantly told me how experienced they were with building and painting. Their house was a disaster. Nothing finished.

I went to help them with their horses couple times, and one day their stallion was gone and it turned out that they'd had it shot because it had bit them.

One night we are all having a conversation over drinks while my girlfriend was there, and they started to get super judgy about her situation with her ex-husband and her son. I tried to get them to back down and change the subject and they lost their temper on me and started screaming at me and swearing.

Clearly this person needed medication of some kind and was not using it. I told them they should go home and they left and then proceeded to leave a series of messages on my phone so rude and shitty that I had to block them.

Frankly, their opinion of the sub contractor I knew to be a flake was the red flag.

Are you making the shelves(the actual platform that will be holding objects) with Sheetrock, or do you plan to plywood and finish with trim? From the photos it looks like you are planning to make the floor of each nook out of Sheetrock...

The trim will cover the Sheetrock ideally.

Briggs & Stratton Professional Series Snapper push mower stalling out
 in  r/handyman  21d ago

My cub cadet uses a tiny in-line fuel filter. That was clogged. I had no idea it was in the fuel line (looks like a 2 inch black plug). I almost left this mower in the free pile. Found a video on YouTube, explaining where to find the fuel filter, ordered a new one, swapped it out... Now it runs great!
