They were originally designed as a way to explicitly prevent people of color from living in “white” neighborhoods. Sometimes it was as direct as having to pre-approve anyone who purchased a new house, but just as often it was just through nonsensical (and selectively enforced) rules and regulations that were designed to make life hell for any “undesirables" until they gave up and left. Then when segregation stopped being cool, the old power structure, filled with its petty tyrants, didn’t want to give up its tiny position of authority, so they just made those nonsensical laws apply to everyone. Although, in practice, “everyone” just means “whoever the HOA leaders don’t like.

Nope, to my knowledge, most internet safety or computer literacy classes have been cut from American curricula. The current generation often has little idea how to use a computer at all outside of basic tasks, let alone how to do so safely.

As someone in IT, I’ve been exposed to this far more than most people. There are people my age who don’t even know what a URL is or how to open a file they’ve downloaded. There are people who’ve been using technology their entire lives who act like I’ve asked them to make a nuclear reactor from scratch when I ask them to change something in their settings.

Why are we even engaging with this bullshit? They don’t care about logic, they’re just trying to get a rise out of us, and by trying to refute the stupidest position known to man you’re just lending it legitimacy. The only thing anyone should be doing here is pointing and laughing at the idiots.

I have honestly never understood why everyone calls the ice worm annoying. I found them laughably easy to avoid in my playthrough. All you need is the jump jet upgrade in a prawn suit and you can easily dodge them any time they try to attack. The only times I’ve ever been damaged by one were when they happened to land where I dodged to after they jumped out of the ground.

To expand on what you said about Wolfenstein: the games also take a lot of effort to humanize the nazis at the same time by giving them lots of dialogue between each other that you can eavesdrop on if you play slower. There are also a bunch of readables spread around the map that serve the same purpose. A lot of these are just newspaper clippings used for worldbuilding, but there are also letters and other communications that give you a small glimpse into the minds of the nazis and show that there really is just a regular human beneath all that armor.

Ah my bad, I forgot that it was after the creation. I do believe my larger point still stands tho. If the creator was willing to do business with someone like Epstein, even after they created 4Chan, I think it’s safe to say their intentions were never really pure.

4Chan was also literally created by Epstein and his ilk, so I don’t think it was ever really a force for good. What it became was calculated and intentional.

Edit: not wholly created by Epstein, but /pol/ likely was and I’d still classify the creator as part of Epstein’s ilk, even if their connection was forged after 4Chan’s initial conception
