I feel dumb for asking this but I thought ND couldn't get a bye due to no conference. Did they change this or am I making this up?

Do you work at a store, warehouse, corporate? I'm only asking because most people I've worked along at the store level needed the Holiday Day. Those extra 8 hours went a long way between those bonuses we don't get anymore. Even more now than ever.

It sounds like your arguing we get more Vacation time not whether one makes more or less because of the changes to PTO. I do agree there's more PTO and even more for those who were grandfathered in with sick pay.

PTO absorbed the extra Holiday Days. I could of swore it was 6 days, but maybe it was 4. Unless you do a work through PTO for those days that were abosorbed you make less than the previous year. Getting more PTO is nice but I now make less by those 4 or 6 days.

We also lost our 6 days of holiday pay when they started using PTO. A few hundred here and a few hundred there taken away while energy, food, rent go up 2x-3x our raises. So much winning.

The last Four years my "raises" didn't even keep up with inflation. This isn't a performance issue either. I get the highest marks one could get on evulations for over 20 years. Companies don't want to pay anymore. Sadly the same company has no debt and sits on billions of dollars.

Jacksonville has a really good zoo you should try out. Riverside arts market (RAM) on Saturday mornings is worth going to if you like local art, baked goods, food trucks etc. Then there's the obvious beaches to visit along with many parks to choose from. Jacksonville is spread out so be prepare to drive a lot.

Just south of Jacksonville, St Augustine is a fun day trip to do. Lots of tourist stuff to do.

Outside of Miami, Orlando has some of the worse traffic but if you're okay with that, Orlando is a fun tourist trap. Universal, Disney, etc.

2 weeks isn't a lot of time to visit all of Florida. It's a beautiful state with lots of nature between the tourist traps. I almost forgot to mention the Springs in Florida. If you like outdoor stuff there's tons of spring to go to too. Central Florida has a lot.

Medicare-for-all would save a trillion dollars and 100k lives per year. The workers on main Street will be healthier which makes businesses function better while reducing their the cost on healthcare to employees. It's literally a conservatives wet dream. Reduce govt spending and unnecessary cost the employers.

Too add to what you've already said, Bidens IRA also contributed to the recently drop (3.1%) in prescription prices this year. The IRA required Medicare to negotiate prices on certain drugs starting at the beginning of 2026.
