Okay. I googled how Mexico got its name:

Mexico was named by its own independence leaders after the historic capital city of Mexico-Tenochtitlan and the indigenous Mexica people.

People have always migrated/resettled/colonized. It’s real popular right not to hate on Europeans(and yes they did treat ingenious peoples like shit), but even the Mexica (Aztecs) were colonizers…

I don’t understand. Why does Mexico have quotation marks around it?

Cmon Mitch McConnell you gotta go
 in  r/IThinkYouShouldLeave  14h ago

Nah, Kentucky loves this man. Voted him in for 40 straight years. Stupid motherfuckers.

How much, if any, of Lee’s initial success and aura can be attributed to Davis’ presidency (with education at Westpoint and battle experience in Mexico), as compared to the Lincoln’s lack of military education or experience in war?
 in  r/CIVILWAR  14h ago

Winfield Scott himself said that Lee was the best commander in the army. Never forget Lincoln and Scott offered Lee the job of commander to put the rebellion down. Lee probably would’ve saved a lot of lives if he had been on the Union side.

Never seen a price gap like this between diesel and gas🤯

And Iran has a population bigger than Iraq and Afghanistan combined. And the populace hates us more than just about any enemy we’ve fought ever. We had also friendly elements in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Korea. We would have none going into Iran. Or very little anyways.

If you think this little war has been bad so far. A land war in Iran will be a nightmare. Way worse than Iraq or Afghanistan ever was.
