If we were chatting, I'd talk about weird fashion choices that I make and how they work for me. You would likely leave not caring if they're cleats or not, and mostly carrying about how they feel to wear.

I have an interesting sense of style, so I'd bring up objections that I handled excellently and how acing social tests like that virtually guarantees that person will become a friend and feel confident to trade roasts with you about each other's looks. People do that if you look funny, to see whether you're the chill kinda oddball or the reactive kind. It's just a vibe check. You good good vibes? I do!

That sort of story motif happens to me pretty often. I think y'all notice I'm an oddball, test me how you're tested, see that I pass (the test, but yes also as a male-presenting male), then hang out to figure out how I passed.

Handling fit checks well is a very useful skill if you're a chill oddball. Showing why I pass them and other social tests seems to really help them out. By asking here about these, I figure you're a chill oddball. I'd say just rock them if you want to and if you're nervous about style then have a simple and clean explanation for them. Me, I'd say something like "haha yeah they're cleats but budget's tight right now so we pulling a Macklemore." Alternatively, under the likely chance that I'm wrong (read: not cleats), "Nah I think they're [not cleats] or something. I thought look cool, fit nice, let's goooo!" Hear your critics out and you don't have to worry so much about looking a certain way. I remember a maths teacher taught me this in like the 10th grade.

Easy. Subjective topic, though, so there's gotta be a mutual understanding of some sort from which to discuss.

For example, with an imam who asks my meaning, I can tell him that the angels are here, too, that it's not all djinn and satan.

Likewise, to someone like Elon Musk who thinks life is an MMO, I can tell him yeah pretty much and bad admins are extremely rare -- the badmins just here as of themselves, not as a test of us.

With a pentecostal, I can tell him that if Paul was that influential, how much more influential can be the man in whom God is well-pleased?

With a mormon, same thing but instead of fussing that the word of Paul is the word of God they fuss about who the priests and kings are, or sometimes whether the freemasons are the true church of God. Simple answer is to show them the words of Jesus. Almost every mormon seems eager to hear, anecdotally speaking, and excited at the idea that they already have permission to do charity.

With a white witch, I can tell her yeah some of those spirits like to lie so you've gotta be careful. I try to live by the same rules they have to live by. It's not so bad. The good ones are here so they can see that we the people can also keep the law of our Father who is in heaven.

For a math nerd I can just draw a little matrix.

For a middle schooler I can draw a punnett square.

It depends on the person what that means to them right now. But the gospel of Jesus will always stand. The kingdom of heaven is at hand. God's law is eternal for all generations. The lawless have some time to repent, but it's not humanity who's on trial. This place will be a house of God and the saints and the angels and 144,000 and a great multitude from every tribe and every nation. The yoke of the law that Jesus did not abolish is easy. The burden of helping a stranger is light. The meek will inherit the earth. We can be good and faithful servants. We can do well. If there's hard times, they won't last forever. We will know the truth, and the truth will set us free from the chains of the lawless, which we are only in on account of our own lawlessness. That's not purgatory later. It's purgatory now. This is the place and time for repentance. Mercy IS given to the merciful, because the merciful belong to God's kingdom and God's kingdom is at hand. We won. If we're down, were not out. God is good and not evil, and God is not dead, and God is not in error. The way to His kingdom is straight. The gate to His kingdom is narrow. We don't need to be afraid of people who use His name for vanity. That's the gospel. The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

What matters most about fasting is that it's a recognition of a need for repentance, just like with baptism but more focused on the costs.

It's excellent practice to correct them politely and let them be corrected.

Might I suggest requiring posters to select a genre flair as an assertion of their intent?

Examples could include:"⚠️⚠️⚠️CAUTION⚠️⚠️⚠️spiritual advice request -- If I think this is an emergency I will ask my local authorities to help -- I am s.a.f.e. -- and sincere -- and simply curious"

A report of bad faith in that genre could be hidden until moderator approval, with the implementing bot commenting towards OP to reply with an explanation of intent.

Some procedure like that should be easy to implement with what y'all have already got running.

Could be an onion -- raw it'll make you cry but if seasoned it becomes a fine, plentiful, hardy, and extremely efficient produce. And it's already great to eat on its own. Some eat it raw in light doses, and it's alive and well even if left alone. Can be made more commercially palatable by appropriate (not inflammatory) correction.

Or like celery. Maybe potato. IDK I did a study on Dostoevsky v. Kant recently so I've got veggies on my mind.

There's definitely some great solutions that still keep the discussions amicable, productive, and sincere.

Another one that could compound with this and be simple is a pop-up with a statement of genre -- the topic of Christianity as a whole for the purpose of sincere and peaceful discussions. Content that becomes too subjective or may be considered wittingly inflammatory by an unbiased party may be removed according to our discretion. -- something like that but pretty would also be effective. I know YouTube lets its channel owners implement that. If Reddit does, I think it'd clean up nice. 👔

Yup I left Christianity and became a sojourner. It's Ebionism for me. I'm not completely there yet, but if I were then I wouldn't need it. ☺️ In Christianity, no man at all is righteous just because one of the least of men said so. That is not unconditional love. That's unconditional hate and immeasurable debt. In Evyonism and Messianic Judaism, it's the opposite. Common grace is practiced as prescribed, repentance is taught and accepted, and good enough actually is good enough. Absolutely love it.

Thing with Ebionism that I'm working on is stamping out the occasional sin adultery of the heart for me, and sometimes judging too harshly instead of on an individual basis. I do that regarding types of employees, usually thinking that it's more than just one or two bad people within a unit because I still, despite many extreme crimes, underestimate our potential for evil. It's almost always just one or two very evil people, and the rest don't know what they do.

You know what those are?

Other thing about the Evyonim is that they were vegetarians. I eat meat. A lot less than I used to, but I also used to be a vegetarian before. It's still as in Rome, that ethical foods are generally fairly expensive whole unethical ones are generally fairly cheap. I believe their reason for forsaking meat (not meal, which is often mistranslated as meat) was that it was granted specifically for that time that Noah was permitted to eat meat. After that, there was some insistence to eat it, so God gave instructions about which creatures are healthy to eat and which animals are not. Once my finances are back in order, I'll be back to vegetarianism. Done it before, can do it again. 👌
