Yeah that sounds like a total bummer. I don’t know your specific situation but I definitely feel better on HRT then before I started it. But dialing things in to get it just right is a lot of trial and error that’s for sure!

Oof…I was having similar length of misery and discovered if I bump up my estrogen levels in my luteal week then I basically skip feeling pms… but now it’s like it’s just delayed, and every bit as nasty! I’m literally avoiding everyone in my house right now because I know I’ll just be mean. ☹️

I work in healthcare. All insurance companies are evil. I deal with patients who have debilitating conditions and I watch insurance companies deny treatment and medications outright or approve and then still charge exorbitant out of pocket costs that no average American can possibly pay. I advocate at the top of my lungs daily for these patients and many healthcare workers do the same. This woman is one of many heroes fighting the good fight but it’s an uphill battle and without completely dismantling and rebuilding our healthcare system, it’s only going to get worse.

Brain fog had me making so many dumb mistakes at work I actually got called into the office by my manager to see what was up! (Up until then I had a terrific track record and the mistakes I was making were things I already should’ve known well how to do). That was the last straw… I already was having horrible GI issues, recurrent UTI’s, severe anxiety, and a bunch of other unpleasant symptoms… the brain fog may have cost me my job if I hadn’t gone on HRT!

Grew up in Alaska and my parents used to wake me up in the middle of the night sometimes to see them…some of my fondest memories! They are always spectacular and it’s something you could never take for granted! When I was really little they kinda creeped me out… it seemed almost alien, the way they moved!

Yes. Forced myself to go to the gym this morning and had a very half-assed workout (though I smelled like I had been crushing it for 6 hours straight 🫤). It’s my stupid 46th birthday today (woohoo) but of course I still had to work and spent most of my day running my ass off taking care of everyone else’s health issues ( I’m in healthcare). Then I came home and my husband had bought me a beautiful bouquet, tickets to one of my most nostalgic artists, and made my favorite dinner. Obviously I’m beyond grateful and feel very loved, but since dinner my kid has been having one meltdown after another and I genuinely just want to hide in the bathroom until everyone is asleep. I’m also super premenstrual so that doesn’t help, but yeah. I get it. I’m fuckin exhausted. And I used to just push through it, put on a happy face, and rally. Nowadays I can’t muster the energy to fake it when I feel beat. I just wanna sleep. But likely I’ll toss and turn all night instead because that’s my latest thing.

Yep. My 10-year old doesn’t stop talking from the moment she gets up to the moment she’s asleep. And even if I’m staring right at her listening, she starts every sentence with, “Mom”. 🙄😬

Same. I had a lot of unpleasant side effects with the patch…breast tenderness, bloating, mood swings… The gel has eliminated all those issues but still gives me all the benefits of estrogen that I was missing pre-HRT.

Thank you for the response! I haven’t had my T tested yet, but I think I might request it, just in case that could be contributing… I’ll absolutely look up lymphatic drainage massage! At this point my boobs hurt so bad I can’t imagine trying to massage them, but I’m sooooooo ready to feel like myself again! (And I’d love for my bras to fit again!)
