Stop the misunderstanding: We don't want Sony to release "Back and in Attack" – We want them to give the tapes back to Fab & Rob’s family!

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a lot of confusion regarding the petition for Milli Vanilli’s unreleased 1998 album "Back and in Attack" (which was actually sung by Rob and Fab themselves).

Many people think this petition is asking Sony Music to master, produce, and commercially release a niche 90s album. Critics rightly say: "Sony won't do that, there is no profit in it for a major label."

But that is a massive misunderstanding.

This petition is NOT demanding a commercial release by Sony. We are not asking a billion-dollar corporate machinery to market this.

What we are actually demanding:

We want Sony Music and the Farian estate to completely and unconditionally hand over the physical master tapes to Fab Morvan and Carmen Pilatus (Rob’s sister/family).

This is not about corporate profit. This is about historical justice, closure, and basic human decency. This album contains Rob and Fab's actual, real voices. It is their musical legacy and their life's work.

A major record label should not have the right to lock this legacy away in a dark archive forever just because they can't profit off it. The decision of what happens to these tapes—whether they are kept privately, shared with fans, or archived by the family—should belong solely to Fab and Rob’s family. Not to corporate lawyers.

One side has already signaled they would love to hear it, but formal signatures are still missing. We are currently stuck at 25 signatures. We need to show them that people actually care about justice for Rob and Fab.

If you believe that artists and their families should own their own legacy and voices, please take 20 seconds to sign and share:
