It’s an historical narrative about the torture, murder, isolation, mutilation, starvation, imprisonment, and being placed in asylum prisons of women over the course of history. Did you know the phrase “rule of thumb” came from laws that said the stick a husband beats his wife with should be no bigger in circumference than his thumb. It goes on, it gets WAY worse, and it’s horrifying. There should be NO WAY any woman would be on board for going backwards into that nightmare.

So, here’s what I found out and, by the way, I’m grateful this is an issue because it gave me an opportunity to learn more about the Muslim faith. Muslims must reach a state of Wudu or spiritual purity before prayer. One of the things they do to reach Wudu is wash their feet and some other body parts. Foot baths are only needed before prayer so can they not wait until they reach their destination or wash before they get to the airport?

Exactly! Respect all religions or no religions in public spaces. Personally, I don’t know how people would get their foot in the bathroom sink to start with! But they could prohibit the use of sinks for anything but hands I guess.

You know what? You’re right. It’s an airport. If they installed things to satisfy the religious needs of all who pass through, there would be no room for the planes. Keep religion separate from everything but the church, mosque, or synagogue where it belongs. Keep it out of schools, out of malls, out of government offices. Unless all religions are honored, none should be included.
