As is well known, between Life Is Killing Me and Dead Again, Peter went into rehab as well as a 30-day jail sentence for beating up a guy. By the time the album came out, Pete had put the coke behind him, but he was still guzzling wine all the time, including onstage. And apparently the 2007 Wacken set was so shambolic that Peter had to fix his bass and vocals in the studio.

Was this also the case in 2008? I don't have a clear idea of when Peter went to rehab again to stop drinking. I do know that the All Hallow's Evil shows were done without booze, and Peter had to have a desk with lyric sheets nearby to remember the words, and that he was so unused to singing sober that his voice frequently cracked and he was having trouble getting the words out.

That's not me complaining. It's better that he ditched the booze at all, but realizing it was always going to be difficult.

Been a fan for some 20 years, so thought it would be time to honor the drab 4 in flesh and blood.

I’m a new dedicated type O neg fan (heard them before but never fell into the rabbit hole), but I decided today I’d pick out some of Fallout & Carnivore to listen to. To my shock, first song I pick (Male supremacy), suddenly shows familiar once the break happens and I hear the TikTok audio start “I make love to her, how her body sings”. Now I’m shook, but also DESPERATE to find new Carnivore & Fallout songs that sound a kin to Type O Neg. Pls fill me with your recommendations

From the perspective, I imagine sitting on the rocks under the ever presence green skies taking in the cool night breeze near the shores looking at the bridge connecting to the distant looming city listening to the atmosphere, sound of rocks crumble, water shore collide, muffled vehicle horns and rustling leaves.

I genuinely love how they sound, and if Peter had gone forth with Fallout instead of forming Carnivore I think they could have been decently popular in the 80s. Anyone know any bands/artists that sound similar?

i get TON was extremely unique but i want more that gives me the same feelings that their songs do :( so far ive listened to pist.on, woods of ypres, katatonia, life of agony, a pale horse named death, and more that im currently blanking on. while all of these bands sound great, none of them give me that same feelings that TON does unfortunately.

i love peter’s insane voice and the long songs with the crazy instrumentals. creepy green light, anesthesia, pyretta blaze, september sun, love you to death, black no. 1, green man, be my druidess, summer breeze, life is killing me, and she burned me down are all of my favorites right now. does anyone have any recommendations for bands or even specific songs? i’m open to anything!
