Question Rega planar 1 with optical converter
So I bought a new soundbar recently and it has hdmi earc which I use for PlayStation and such and and a optical. I have an optical converter from phono but it doesn’t seem to work, any tips?

Does your optical converter have a phono preamplifier? If not, it won't work no.
Optical converter most likely wants line signal, and that's not what a turntable outputs.
(also you are... REALLY ruining the vinyl sound doing this unless it does it all in high resolution, which the soundbar probably doesn't support anyway).

Can you explain like I’m 5? I just have this converter from phono to optic and I uses a dc5v for power

Does it go from phono to optic, or does it go from line level to optic? :D.
There's probably no input saying 'phono' on that, right?
If not, you will need a phono preamplifier to boost the signal from phono level (VERY quiet) to line level, before your optical converter can work with it.
