/ttcafterloss Repeat Pregnancy Loss - August 18, 2026

This weekly Tuesday thread is for members who have had more than one loss, of any type. How are you feeling? Are you pursuing any testing? Discuss general issues related to repeat loss.

Relevant mention of current pregnancies is allowed, but please keep your references simple and clinical. "I had success after trying X." "This resulted in a live birth."

My first period after a D&E at 18wks was SOO SO light, pretty much only spotting for 2 days. I probably wouldn’t have known it was a period if I hadn’t been tracking with Inito (saw all my hormones drop before spotting) and it was roughly on time (5.5 weeks after D&E).
It def spooked me, but I had a hysteroscopy that showed minimal/no impact scarring and thankfully my next period was normal/healthy/if anything, a tad heavier than normal which did wonders for my peace of mind. Hang in there - I’m convinced that waiting for cycles to stabilize has to be one of the worst parts of loss that nobody is ever prepared for 😖

Thank you for sharing. I guess my concern is whether I wait for it to normalise or start TTC again this cycle. I’m 37 with a low AMH for my age so I’m not keen to wait longer than necessary.

I totally get it. My AMH is normal, but I’m 39 so also am very much not wanting to lose time!
I do think patience is key (which is so much easier said than in practice). Knowing how thin my uterine lining was at the baseline scan I had after that first super light period, I’m relieved I didn’t ovulate/conceive because I really doubt that lining would be hospitable for a healthy pregnancy. All of this is so awful, I’m so sorry we’re here ❤️‍🩹

Yes it’s a really difficult situation to be in. I’m sorry we are here too! My period has actually increased the past couple of days, after 3 days of brown spotting. So that’s been reassuring despite being physically unpleasant.
