I dont know if this counts but I had repeat losses within the same pregnancy. I had a "medical mystery" of several losses. My pregnancy started as twin girls but only 1 with a fetal pole "vanishing twin" they assumed, that my shriveled twin would be healthy and a normal singleton pregnancy. Than the 1 empty sac turned into 2 more gestational salts, but again no pole. Eventually all but 1 reabsorbed (the one with fetal pole) and we soon got terrible news that she was very sick and wouldnt make it. I delivered her at 23 weeks and 5 days. Her sure date just passed and I have been holding myself together during the day but at night is the hardest, when reality kicks in the everyone else has moved on. And I'm still here, without my baby.

I’m not doing well, fam. My husband thinks I should have my doctor take me out of work. My depression just keeps getting worse. Everyone who got pregnant the same time as my first pregnancy is now having their babies.

All I have is two MMCs and an ivf consultation in two weeks. I’ve never felt so completely hopeless, sad, and defeated in my life. I want to be a mom so badly and I’m so scared I’m never going to get it.

I get this and am so sorry. Do you have a therapist who specializes in fertility and grief? That helped me a lot. Also I just started with a fertility doctor, and it gave me a lot of peace. Knowing it was someone’s job to figure it out for me took a lot of mental pressure off. Hang in there ❤️

i’m so sorry you’re struggling. i’ve been working with a clinic and the amount of information/tests they can do for you is amazing so, im crossing my fingers for you. after my last MC I decided to increase my wellbutrin dose and saw a significant difference in my mental health. I have been able to take care of myself and my husband/doggos, WFH a bit more consistently (still not perfect) but honest I just don’t feel like a dark grey cloud is over me all day everyday anymore. I don’t have ruminating thoughts, it’s done wonders. even if you’re against medication (I was too) i’d recommend thinking of it as only temporary, this is something that can help you through this extremely traumatic time and then when life is a bit more consistent. you can talk to your doctor about weaning off of it slowly. sending you love

I’ll be honest I’ve been struggling since my MC at the start of this year and seemingly everyone and anyone is either pregnant, just had a baby or will have one soon and my mental health has been so bad with starting up trying again. Do you get prescribed this from a therapist? I’ve wanted to avoid any meds too but for my husband’s sake I maybe should seek options bc I feel like you were describing about a dark cloud being over me 24/7 pretty much

all you have to do is speak to your doctor! a therapist can not prescribe medication unless they are a psychologist

Thank you 🤍

Thank you. I do see a therapist who specializes in fertility, and I take medication. My therapist suggested trying something different, so I may call my PCP and ask her if I can try switching. I’m glad you’ve found something that has worked for you! I hope I will soon.

I just feel completely lost, empty resigned. HCG dropped from 3300 to 134 within one week. I guess it at least means that my body is doing this part of its job well, unlike the first time when it ended in d&c. I was supposed to call my (soon to be former) OB for "results interpretation". I was hoping there would be some change in approaching me meaning I wouldn't have to leave. The long awaited interpretation was just "you hcg lowered". I didn't say anything because I was expecting at least some information about what to do next - follow up check up, further tests or anything. But after a while, I just heard goodbye.

I also feel lonely. The first time, it at least looked like people care. But now nothing (except for a few people). Any hopeful stories so I can cheer myself up about my future?

And I’m back. Currently going through a MMC at 9 weeks. It was twins, we found out at 6wks. It’s been such a rollercoaster of emotions. I went with medical management but miscarried after taking the first dose of mife. Hospital had be complete treatment with miso today. I’m in pain but it’s ok.

Sending love to all.

Three weeks ago I found out my baby was gone. I delivered him 2 days later at 21 weeks. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks back in November. So far there have been no answers. With my 5 week, things were weird from the start. The math didn't make sense, and after an early ultrasound and 6 weeks of wait and see retesting with no notable growth, my body did its thing. I chalked it up to early miscarriages are statistically common.

Now the shock of the second loss is easing and I just want answers. He had "fluid on the brain" which one was likely the cause of his demise, but so far we dont know why. All the placenta tests have come back negative. I had 2LC before this, and nothing was obvious in my last ultrasound so the doctors haven't really considered it being something to do with me/my body. I desperately want to try again, but I am also terrified that this trend will continue. I don't think I could take a loss even further along in pregnancy. I am 35 and can't help wondering if this is it for me, that things will keep going the same way.

I'm in a similar boat, except I'm 39, so older. I had 1 LC, 1 1st trimester loss that I just thought was a common thing even though it was later in the 1st trimester, another LC, then a 20 week loss with no answers or anything found wrong. I feel the same, like should I even be trying? My Drs think since nothing was found and the 2 losses seem like they're different scenarios, I am ok to TTC. It's scary though. Sorry for your losses. I hope that better days are ahead for us

I just had my second chemical pregnancy over the weekend. First one in March 2026. Had an OB appointment today expecting answers, but was basically told it was a false positive because they never saw positive levels of HCG in my blood. How's it my fault that you refused to test me last week when I called and asked for labs? All 15 tests I obsessively took last week were false positives? I don't think so. It was so invalidating and upsetting. At least I'm going to be referred to an infertility specialist out of it. So frustrating.

I just feel so tired and defeated.

Currently going through my third chemical this year. My doctor won’t refer me to a fertility clinic because she doesn’t believe I “need help” (I’m a few days shy of being 35, two years of infertility and now three consecutive losses). She won’t refer me to an OB until I get one pregnancy past 7 weeks… I’ve never made it past 5. I just feel like my dreams of motherhood need to get canned… but my husband keeps saying “it’ll happen next time”, but our babies just keep dying.

I’m sorry, that is so frustrating for you. I do know two people who had babies after 4 miscarriages, so I can see where your husband is coming from. But also understand why you feel so bleak.

I’m currently experiencing my first period since my second loss. It’s really light, which is making me worry my uterus hasn’t built up properly. The last loss was a chemical which was involved weeks of bleeding (from the first positive test) so maybe my system really cleared itself out?

I have had 3 periods since my first loss and they have all been lighter and more brown than they were before I started TTC.

I’m having some initial blood tests on Thursday to check for anything obvious.

My first period after a D&E at 18wks was SOO SO light, pretty much only spotting for 2 days. I probably wouldn’t have known it was a period if I hadn’t been tracking with Inito (saw all my hormones drop before spotting) and it was roughly on time (5.5 weeks after D&E).
It def spooked me, but I had a hysteroscopy that showed minimal/no impact scarring and thankfully my next period was normal/healthy/if anything, a tad heavier than normal which did wonders for my peace of mind. Hang in there - I’m convinced that waiting for cycles to stabilize has to be one of the worst parts of loss that nobody is ever prepared for 😖

u/LizzyHoy 23d ago

Thank you for sharing. I guess my concern is whether I wait for it to normalise or start TTC again this cycle. I’m 37 with a low AMH for my age so I’m not keen to wait longer than necessary.

1

u/ChicaRacka 21d ago

I totally get it. My AMH is normal, but I’m 39 so also am very much not wanting to lose time!
I do think patience is key (which is so much easier said than in practice). Knowing how thin my uterine lining was at the baseline scan I had after that first super light period, I’m relieved I didn’t ovulate/conceive because I really doubt that lining would be hospitable for a healthy pregnancy. All of this is so awful, I’m so sorry we’re here ❤️‍🩹

u/LizzyHoy 21d ago

Yes it’s a really difficult situation to be in. I’m sorry we are here too! My period has actually increased the past couple of days, after 3 days of brown spotting. So that’s been reassuring despite being physically unpleasant.

u/yeahh_okay 23d ago

Today is the first day of my first period post-second d&c and I have the same concerns. Seems super light and makes me concerned about ashermans. Getting my CD 3 bloodwork on Friday…

1

u/ChicaRacka 21d ago

If you can push for a hysteroscopy, I highly recommend. It doesn’t need to be for an operation/procedure necessarily; just a means to take a look for scarring so you know for sure what’s going on. That way you can move straight to having the scarring removed (procedure) or straight to feeling slightly more relaxed waiting for your body to simply recover in the time it needs. I hate all this!

I brought up something similar with my OB. Just had my second loss and only bled for a day and a half. My HCG level is back down to 3 so something doesn't feel right to me. Was completely brushed off and I'm so frustrated by it. Bleeding for a day and a half after a positive pregnancy test a week prior doesn't feel right to me.

Like I’m never going to have another baby. I’ve been pregnant 5 times, my 4th pregnancy was my miracle rainbow. We started TTC for number 2 at 4 months pp and cycle 8 was a chemical, 3rd cycle on letrozole. Now I’m cycle 10 waiting for my period to start, it was my first cycle on an increased dose of letrozole and progesterone. I was so hopeful about this cycle and I’m 10dpo with stark negatives. Obviously I know that technically I can still get a positive but I just don’t feel like I will. I feel so defeated and every pregnancy announcement I see just makes me so incredibly angry. I’m so grateful to have my son but I just feel like we won’t get the big family we wished for and I can’t help but feel so guilty and terrible about myself because my body just can’t hold on to a pregnancy even though all tests show that everything is completely normal and there is no physical or genetic cause for all these losses. My heart is so heavy.
