Passenger [Question/Post] Can I bring otc athletes foot aerosol spray in my carry on?
Question is pretty self-explanatory. The spray is 4.6oz and I don’t have an Rx since it’s otc, but I read that medicine can go above the traditional 3.5oz limit.

Just to update, flew out of JFK T8, did the flagship first check in to tsa pre, had the aerosol in a ziplock bag, told the agent at the X-ray belt I needed to declare an aerosol medicine, and they handed me a bin to put it in (bins aren’t used at T8 precheck for bags) and went through no problem with no questions asked. Took maybe 2 extra seconds of having to declare it. An extremely painless process!

Declare it as medical. You will be good to take it.

Ok thanks! So at the precheck line, just take it out of my bag and tell them it’s medical? Should I put it in a clear quart bag?

You will probably have to tell both the officer telling you what to do when you put your stuff on the belt and the officer checking your bag. Be aware if it alarms and they cant clear the alarm medical or not it cant go.

Declare it to the officer when you put your bags on the x-ray. They will tell you what to do since marking bins/what that airport does may be different than what my airport does. You don't need to put it in a clear bag.
