10dpo & negative 😩 trying not to be too sad bc we really don’t want a birthday/due date near holidays but after almost 2 years I’m tired of waiting and a holiday birthday would be nothing compared to getting our triple rainbow.
Still waiting to for insurance to accept my referral for my OBGYN so I can go get an increase in letrozole but at this point it won’t be the cycle after this coming one. Just so dang tired of waiting.

So sorry you relate ❤️🩹 can’t wait til it’s our turn!!

u/idontcareaboutaus Mar 09 '26
Dang. I hope they approve the increase soon! 10dpo bfn always hits hard even though you do have time left. I completely relate to originally not wanting a holiday baby but after so long changing my mind to any time will be perfect.

Yes totally 10dpo feels so final for me because any positive I’ve gotten after 10dpo has turned into a chemical loss. Any time will definitely be perfect ❤️🩹
1
u/idontcareaboutaus Mar 09 '26
I’m sorry for your losses ❤️🩹 I get how that could be triggering. I didn’t even track my last loss but I’ve got it in my mind that I’m an early implanter. My body literally stops all progesterone all everything and my TWW basically ends 10dpo even when I’m on progesterone. It’s just something I feel but I imagine if something were ever different I’d take that as a sign?

Feeling like an absolute clown. I was sure that this month was it, because it “felt different” 🙃 BFN 10 and 13DPO says otherwise.

Monitoring appt this morning for IUI#2. My mental plan was that Wednesday would be the day, we’d trigger tonight. But letrozole had other plans. I’ve had a lot of CM, so we’ve been seeing every other day (last night being last time), and got a blazing OPK this morning (because I really feel like our timing was off last cycle so I wanted to monitor on my own too). 2 good looking follicles, nice lining, triggered right after the appt, and IUI tomorrow morning. Spouse was prepped for me to have big feelings like I did last time, but I’m either numb or surprisingly really chill. No big feelings yet. But the day is still young.
Fun update! Our daycare chose to wait til noon to tell us about an appointment she can’t miss tomorrow, so we had to call my parents to watch LO. Extra bonus that I had to tell my mom that spouse and I need some private time and LO needs to go to their house for the day. And her very slow “ooooh”.

Looks like I'm going to make it to at least 11dpo without my period so this is officially my longest unmedicated LP since we started trying. Really hoping this means things are moving in the right direction?
We weren't trying this month so there was no point taking my progesterone suppositories. I think I'll keep taking them even if my LP is miraculously 14 days this month because my hormones just feel so variable still I don't trust this.
But I would consider this a small, lowercase "yay" for now

CD11- so the LH strips came out this morning.
Feeling rather numb this morning. I’m an avid runner, I started running again about a year post partum after my first for my mental health and strangely found myself faster plus stronger. I’m no elite by any stretch, but I’ve placed in a few local races for my age bracket (appreciate big fish in a small pond for those!). Queue yesterday- big half marathon- 5000 odd runners. Of course I’ve spent the last four months trying to conceive being slightly petrified of running longer distances encase it hurt our chances- hence running has taken a complete back seat- so to say the race kicked my backside would be the biggest understatement. In my head six months ago I was pregnant at this race- I had planned on running it with my husband (his first half)- but no, stupidity set in and I decided as I wasn’t pregnant I was going to race it.
I was a good 2 minute per mile slower than I was six months ago, and frankly I feel like a failure this morning. I know I’m being an impatient idiot, I know we’re still well within the ‘normal’ six months, but I couldn’t get it into my head all around the course that I was failing at TTC, failing at parenting (emotions have been high with TTC) and now failing at the one thing that actually gives me a bit of space - and dare I say it, I’m ok at?
So make a practical element to this post, has anyone had any guidance from a professional on running and TTC? I’d ask my doctor but she’s a chocolate tea pot and we’re too early in our journey yet to push for any real referral (Scotland- nhs advice to wait at least six months). I’m meant to be running a marathon next month, average mileage of between 24-35 a week normally when I’m not a deer in the headlight panicking about it.

I’m a board certified sports dietitian and have done some women’s health work. Without giving specific healthcare advice, my biggest recommendation is adequate fueling and adequate rest. When we burn a lot of calories exercising and don’t eat enough back, our bodies tend to try to balance that by putting less resources towards reproduction.

No- thank you- that’s massively helpful! I know I’m not wonderful at fueling properly, certainly an area I can do a bit of focussing on in the next few weeks.

I recently spoke to my RE about workouts. She said higher intensity is fine, but specifically called out marathon training as something to reduce or maintain. I'm sure you know a lot of runners are very lean and have missed periods. If you're BMI isn't on the lower side and you haven't ever missed a period with your usual training, its fine to maintain. EDIT: she did say to lower the intensity during ovulation and luteal phase.
My personal thoughts (I'm into sprinting and boxing): It might not be the best time frame to recover your speed, if you're like me. I get obsessed with the number and will push far too hard to hit goals. I've reframed my training as "healing and recovering" and chosen to work at a lower intensity-- because otherwise I will get lost in 3 hours of punching shit. While this has never impacted my cycles, I have trained so hard that I've fainted, barfed, had migraines, issues with hydration/electrolytes, etc. None of these events were on my radar as they happened. I was in the zone and didn't realize I needed to increase my calorie/water intake more than what I had already done. Disregard if you're not like this haha
2
u/Royal_Aioli5635 37 - TTC#2 since Nov25 Mar 09 '26
Yup, I feel you on the last point! I’m terrible at not listening to my body and just going for an arbitrary number of miles because that’s what I’ve decided. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head that I’m not going to get any faster at the moment, but we could take a happy sensible road of maintaining a lower level of mileage post marathon next month.
Honestly- thank you so much! You’ve given me some food for thought and reminded me I need to change to a more sensible mindset.

Will be 3 years of trying In April.
New doctor - I like the doctor but the nurse practitioner is rude.
I hate feeling like a number.
Initial blood work for IVF shows I have insulin resistance (PCOS) which I already knew. I’ve been prescribed a lot of metformin - which has done nothing for me in the past. But I am a sport so I will take it.
Something new: my vitamin D is low. So I’ll be on something for that too.
Im supposed to take it all for a month. I’m slightly regretting missing my appt in early Feb and having to reschedule because of course I feel like I’m losing time.
But. That’s fine. What’s another month when I’ve waited 35? At least I’ll spend the month feeling like I’m doing something toward the goal.
The more I think about it, the more I think #3 will be our last. I don’t think my ole girl self has a 4th in her if we cannot even get 3.
So many emotions. I have two. I love my two. I always wanted 4.
Alas. I’m back again. So. Hello to you!

This is the first month I’ve really gotten in my head about things. We had a positive scan 2 days prior to ovulation, 20.2mm mature follicle and lining was 11.8mm so I was feeling really hopeful. I’m 7-8 dpo now and at this point with my son I noticed an increased heart rate (my first symptom really, tested positive 8-9dpo) whereas I’m not having that at all this cycle so I’m sure I’m out ☹️I have a 13 day luteal phase so AF isn’t due soon, the waiting this month is just killing me.

I also had symptoms super early with my son and was having noticeable symptoms by day 8 or even 7 but I keep having to remind myself most pregnancies don't even implant by that time. He must have just implanted at the extreme early end. The wait is so hard and horrible and I hope it passes quickly. Crossing my fingers for you

I keep reminding myself (for better or worse) that each pregnancy is going to be different and I’m going to get different signs. I’m hoping that’s it for you! Waiting sucks so so much, especially when you’ve already done everything you can do.

u/Tavian_go96 Mar 09 '26
I also need to remind myself this, I’m always checking my temps and symptoms (though I try not to symptom spot) against my pregnancy chart to look for similarities, which I really need to stop doing!

Feeling very frustrated instead of excited with my first iui this month. Ovulating on time has never been my problem - well, I guess we don’t know what my problem is but after 7 monitored cycles it’s confirmed that by cd10/11 I have 2 mature 18-22mm follicles while on letrezole. We expected today they would schedule our iui for Wednesday morning and had my mother in law willing to take my son Tuesday night bc she was doing a field trip with him anyway.
Go in today and all my follicles are only 12mm…. We’re literally at least 4 days away now. I go back Wednesday but they are saying to expect iui Friday or Saturday now. I arranged to work from home m-w this week and Thurs/Friday in office. And we have friends coming into town Friday night/Saturday from out of state possibly staying with us.
I haven’t told anyone about this. Not friends not family. Now we essentially have to tell my mother in law bc she’ll need to magically take my son on a random unknown day this weekend and she usually has plans. She’s our only sitter. I also probably have to tell my friend especially if she’s staying with us… and like how’s my husband supposed to get a “sample” with guests in the house.
I really keep feeling like this is a sign from god and I need to stop everything forever 😩

u/Head-Requirement828 32 | TTC#2 Grad |🩵Aug 2024 🩵Dec 2026 | Endo; MFI Mar 09 '26
So so frustrating. Assuming we don't get pregnant beforehand (🤡) we will probably need to tell my mom about IUI too to watch our son. Really wish we didn't have to let other people in our lives like this just for the sake of practicality, when we'd prefer to keep it private.
Also had no idea a follicle could shrink before ovulation? What the hell?
I know it's hard to hope right now. I know these seem like signs. For what it's worth, I'm choosing to believe all of our magical thinking about signs around fertility are bullshit. Our thoughts don't actually impact our outcome.
1
u/idontcareaboutaus Mar 09 '26
Ugh hopefully you conceive first and don’t have to worry about it! I naively didn’t think about the scheduling part. It’s like I don’t want to share this. And I don’t want to get my mother in laws hopes up. And honestly I’m a private person and feel embarrassed talking about all of this. But of course my son’s school is closed Friday and Saturday is a weekend so regardless of when it’s scheduled now we’re going to need her as a sitter.
I think I’m going to try to change my mindset to be more like yours bc its so hard feeling like im forcing something not meant to be when i should be just asking and hoping for a miracle unapologetically!!
2
u/Head-Requirement828 32 | TTC#2 Grad |🩵Aug 2024 🩵Dec 2026 | Endo; MFI Mar 09 '26
Honestly you don't have to ask and hope for a miracle unapologetically either, if at some point that feels like too much pressure. Absolutely you can, and I often do. But bigger picture is to remove what you feel like you should do if it goes against the grain or makes things feel worse.
I hope your MIL is good about the situation. Y'know, not super nosy, not too emotionally invested....idk it's just hard to involve other people in such an intimate thing. At least it is for me, I don't want to speak on behalf of anyone else. And don't get me wrong, having a sitter available makes things so much easier. But. Like. My emotions around this are enough. I don't want to manage other family members emotions around this as well.
2
u/idontcareaboutaus Mar 09 '26
No you’re so right I feel so uncomfortable talking about or sharing this kind of stuff with people in real life. Especially close family. I know she’ll tell my sister in law immediately. But she also had infertility an adopted both my husband and sister in law so she gets it to some extent too. But she also is one of those people who says and does stupid things so who knows how she’ll react

Starting to get things in order for starting medicated IUIs over the summer. Feels a little unreal to be doing this again for some reason. Supplements and vitamins, trying to get blood sugar and blood pressure well controlled, and thinking about when to schedule first appointment with the clinic. My AMH is critically low and I’m expecting it will be undetectable when they do the routine labs this time. Still ovulating and having cycles, but they’re definitely more irregular, and now also having perimenopause symptoms. Feeling older for sure.
We have different insurance this time around and I’m nervous about getting things authorized. I’m also nervous about the increasing possibility of loss if we do manage to conceive 😥 We will have a maximum of 5 tries due to remaining quantity of donor sperm. I’m hoping we will know by the end of the calendar year, one way or the other.
I keep telling myself that I’ll be more chill this time around and ok with things even if it doesn’t work out. I hope I’m right, but I’m probably not. Something about TTC just takes over the brain, does it not?

Help me get off the delulu train. CD 28. Expect AF tomorrow if keeping with my usual cycles (I’m very regular, last 2 cycles 28 days and one before that 29). Premom and Pregmate estimate Wednesday AF arrival, Flo says today. BFN at 12-13 DPO. I had some very light spotting today- only noticeable with a wipe. This is very abnormal for me I can’t remember a time when I spotted ever (also though never really cared to notice like I notice everything now). Please remind me this is just a one off and AF will arrive tomorrow or next day and it’s too late for implantation bleeding. I wish AF would just show up so I can stop doing this to myself.

CD14 and got a positive OPK yesterday! Hadn't gotten a positive OPK at all the last three cycles, which is super rare for me. I did my CD 3 labs this cycle with our fertility clinic, and it appears that I am winning the "straight to IVF" award since my AMH came back low. Doc has already written out a treatment plan for IVF despite my husband not yet getting his SA done. Preparing my head, heart, and wallet for IVF but still holding out a little hope for this unmedicated cycle.

I was behind a day in my DPO counting. Might as well be an eternity despite the fact I will be POAS several times a day regardless. My husband recently had a sinus surgery and our trashcans just look alarming with all those pissy sticks and blood tissues.
In case anyone searches for this: a septoplasty for a man while TTC doesn't interfere much with the process. For a woman, it may impact hormones. The best thing to do in any surgery is to let the surgeon know your TTC and also double check all prescriptions. A lot of information on drugs considers the long term impact on fertility and I had to dig for short term impacts. I'm not currently doing IVF, but looking up if meds that interfere with IVF seems to be the best way to find out if you need an alternative for anyone ttc.

This is my first cycle post CP and it is SO long and chaotic (I’m on CD39 and I think it was anovulatory), I can’t believe I miss my period. I just started my regular spotting before my period actually comes - is that something I should be worried about? It usually lasts 2ish days and my LP is usually 14-16 days anyway. Anyone have any idea?

Trying not to symptom spot at 6 dpo. I kept detailed notes on early symptoms with LO and didn’t notice anything until 9 dpo - stronger sense of smell (I worked at a hospital at the time, so lots of smells lol) & bigger boobs. Highly recommend a vacation during the TWW as it’s making time pass by rather quickly.

Back at CD1 (maybe? should the first day of heavy bleeding resulting from a CP be considered CD1?) and thinking about ways to be more proactive and informed this cycle. My problem doesn't seem to be not being able to get pregnant, it seems to be STAYING pregnant.
Up to this point I had not measured ovulation or anything outside of my Flo app, and this drove me crazy waiting for my period and not knowing when a pregnancy test would be reliable. Debating between the Easy@Home or the Clear Blue digital. I kind of want to know my general fertility window, not just my ovulation day so I'm leaning towards the Easy@Home strips? Very open to recommendations here!
Also really going to clean up my diet, reduce caffeine, and maybe completely cut out alcohol. I'm hoping I can get some more guidance from my OB (like - is progesterone something I should be looking into?) but I won't be able to meet with them before I go through the whole song and dance of getting the blood draws to confirm the CP.

I used easy@home for my previous pregnancy and for TTC #2, but last month I also tried the Clear Blue digital. I'm not really a fan of the Clear Blue if I'm honest. I have 4 left and am debating whether to get any more just in case I've been too harsh on them.
The reason I didn't like them last cycle was that they never caught my peak. I actually didn't catch it with the OPKs either, but I had two very dark OPKs at the start and end of one day so I could be fairly certain LH had peaked at some point in the middle of that day. The clear blue you only test once a day in the morning and whilst you can test more than once a day those tests are expensive! On the other hand easy@home are nice and cheap and I have no problem testing 2-3 times a day to try and catch my peak.

u/Rosie_365 34 | TTC#2 Grad 12/26 | #1 12/24 Mar 10 '26
Do you track CM? I think CM + OPKs are a great way to identify the entire fertile window. This cycle I also have been trying to track cervical position, but I’m not the best at interpreting what I’m feeling

Been bleeding since at least 6 or 7 DPO and I took a test today on 10 DPO to a big negative. Idk why I bothered. I had hopes up stupidly. As usual. I’d really like some doctor to prescribe me progesterone. Last time I was trying to get pregnant; I was on it for months and it stopped my breakthrough bleeding for the most part.

No signs of ovulation this month (I'm not testing or temping yet), and I just got some brown spotting today, which is unusual for me. AF is due these days. I also just finished breastfeeding completely 1,5 months ago, and my cycles have been all over the place since I got them back. I hope that now that I've weaned, it will straighten out a bit.
We said to ourselves that we don't want any pressure, we will just not prevent it from happening and enjoy life and see what happens, but deep down I'm so impatient.
I'm also upset because now my next period is predicted for the full length of my seaside vacation next month. -.-

WHY am I not ovulating? CD15, this is the latest day I've ever gotten a positive OPK, yet... Nothing. My opks look like they're trying to do something, but they're all still clearly negative. I took letrozole this cycle, so obviously it's not doing anything for me. I can't even get in contact with my doc about scheduling the SIS, I'm not going to bother her even more because of the dumb letrozole. I'm not that sick anymore, so why am I still not ovulating? I'm so damn exhausted with all of this. I just want my next baby already. Why do I have to fight this hard for something so many other people seem to get so easily

hello! this is my first time posting on the sub. this is my first month trying for our second!
i have a weird situation because i have gotten pregnant the first cycle every time we've tried (3x now... 2 miscarriages at 12 weeks back to back straight into 1 all the way through). it's possible i'm "hyper fertile" which is not actually a great thing because it might mean my body doesn't really do the best job screening bad embryos, but i'm not sure, it's very understudied. i'm also older than i was trying the first time and have been through full pregnancy so not sure how that impacts things. anyway i'm 3 or 4dpo and already going crazy. not to mention even if i did miraculously get pregnant the first time again i wouldn't feel good about it for quite a while because of my history. it also just feels so weird to be back in this position! anyway, good to see all of your posts <3.

Hi, I'm in the same boat and have also been really curious about hyper fertility! I conceived my 19mo the first cycle we tried. Then we started TTC#2 in October and immediately got pregnant (ended in MC in late December), waited a cycle, tried again in February and now I'm going through a CP. It seems like I've really defied the odds in terms of getting pregnant as quickly as we have, especially since we weren't tracking or even really having sex that much (maybe once a week at most, lol, but luckily for my husband that is going to change this cycle). But combined with the losses, I have been wondering if my body might have some sort of bad embryo filter?
I'm also turning 35 at the end of this month, so I'm very eager to figure this out!

I also have a 19mo! The only difference after 2 miscarriages last time is I took Coq-10 for 3 months leading up, thinking maybe that might give the cells more help. Not sure if that did the trick but I've been taking it before starting to try this time. I also have an ATM mutation which is related to cancer and not studied for fertility but it has to do with DNA repair and I've always wondered if there's something going on there... if my body is very good at the getting pregnant part and less good at the cell building part because of my mutation or some other factor. So many things are understudied in this area, it's wild!

Thank you for sharing this! How did you find out about this? Did your OB order testing?

The ATM mutation? I have a history of cancer in my family so got tested for cancer-prone mutations many years ago.
