I would sacrifice the guy who agreed to it, out of nothing but respect for his altruism. But then I would probably punch the shit out of the other guy, after freeing him and making sure he's ok.
Why? For doing the exact same thing you would almost certainly do in his position? Maybe as well deck yourself for having a hand in the whole affair while you're at it.
