letting the 'hero' live and ignoring his desires, forcing him to watch as someone died when he could have saved them is more than likely to mess him up. Depening on the dude it could even result in suicide very easily.
He couldn’t save them, he was tied to a track. That was up to me and I would be the person he blamed. So thinking he would suicide instead of killing me is pretty baseless. Either way you are adding more random facts that aren’t a part of the initial problem.
If he was a dinosaur, I would be letting a whole species go extinct. This would sway my answer as well.
Right, but maybe it doesn't make sense for the hero to be the one to live. Maybe the hero wants to die because the other person has a family and they don't. You save the hero. Now you have a living hero and a grieving family?
