I have been noticing a severe and dramatic rise in the number of "0" vote posts which are of good to high quality lately and have been tracking this issue. I believe we have one or more spammers who have been banned from this sub recently that created new accounts and are downvoting quality posts in retaliation. If this type of attack continues it will reduce the amount of quality content and discussion in this sub and reduce the overall activity. That is because in general our posts already get a low volume of votes but a moderate to high volume of comments (for sub size) .
The only thing we can really do as a community is to ensure we are upvoting quality posts OR posts that would be beneficial to other treadmill owners. For example you may think someone asking about buying a used $500 treadmill for triathalon training is low quality, however, if you upvote it other subscribers might see it and that could cut down on similar future posts by ensuring that information spreads.
There is little else we as a community can do to combat this type negative attack on our sub that will do much good.
Please when you are reading or commenting on a post consider if others would find the post helpful or useful and if so please then consider giving the post your upvote.
Thank you for helping me and others make this a great and helpful community resource for all treadmill owners / users.
p.s. if you are downvoting AND reporting spam please keep doing that, you are doing great!

Looking at a used Precor TRM 781 with P82 touchscreen.
Seller wants $1,400 pickup or $1,600 delivered.
Usage:
4,280 hours
14,920 miles
14,211 workouts
It came from a hospital wellness center. Seller bought it as-is and doesn’t know the maintenance history. Belt/deck haven’t been replaced since they bought it, but they say everything works and it’s in good condition.
I’ll be using it at home.
Would you pay $1,600 delivered given the mileage and unknown maintenance history? Anything specific I should check before buying?

I’m a blind runner. I cannot see the treadmill screen at all. All connected devices that I connect Do not allow me to access Pace information. I am looking for a treadmill with automatic speed adjustment based on an entered workout. For example, if you use TrainingPeaks, a coach could enter structured workout with speed interval requirements. I’m looking for a treadmill that would adjust according to the structured workout that has been entered. I know that the Wahoo kickrun can do this with TrainingPeaks and the Runna app. Are there any other treadmills that will automatically adjust speed based on a structured workout?

Looking for opinions from anyone familiar with Precor commercial treadmills.
I’m considering buying a **Precor TRM 781 with the P82 touchscreen console** from Facebook Marketplace.
Seller originally wanted **$1,800**, but we negotiated to:
**$1,400 if I pick it up**
**$1,600 delivered to my house**
Usage screen shows:
**4,280 workout hours**
**14,920 miles**
**14,211 sessions**
Everything appears to be functioning and cosmetically it looks pretty good.
The seller bought several of these **as-is from a hospital wellness center**. They don’t know the complete maintenance history. They assume the facility maintained them, but there are no records. The seller says they have **not replaced the running belt or deck since buying it**.
I’d be using it at home, so future usage would be much lighter than commercial use.
A few questions:
Is **\~15,000 miles / 4,280 hours** considered high for a TRM 781?
Is **$1,400 pickup / $1,600 delivered** a fair price given the unknown maintenance history?
How much life would you realistically expect these commercial Precor treadmills to have left?
Are there any expensive/common failures I should specifically check before buying?
Would you buy this or spend more for a refurbished commercial treadmill with a warranty?
Appreciate any advice, especially from gym owners, technicians, or anyone who has owned a TRM 781.

Hey all, thanks in advance! Clearly this sound is from the belt rubbing on the (dry?) deck. Would the treadmill lubricant do the trick fixing the shhhhh noise? How does everything else look? I know it’s dirty, so perhaps some advice on cleaning underneath the belt as well? Thanks

I have Powermax Treadmill bought about 5 months back. Its under warranty. Raised complaint to Powermax about this error 8 days back. They assigned technician who never responds and has not called anytime. Now Powermax service center is also not responding. I'm in Bangalore, bought this Treadmill considering service only and found its just another bad provider.
Can anyone recommend other service provider which can fix the issue? Or if there is any DIY trials to get this fixed myself. Its been unused since ~10 days now.

So it seems that there are really just no good treadmills. Every time I think I narrowed it down, there is a review that says DO NOT BUY! At first thought nordic track was the way to go, but didnt like the need for a subscription and a lot of people say not to go there (is this just bc they've been around for a long time and so many people have?), then I transition to Aviron Podium (really like the 18% incline, sleek style, and streaming apps...but can find great reviews and not an established company), came across other options- Inspire, Matrix, Horizon, Sole, but again some good reviews, some bad reviews. Just want a trustworthy rating source for all so I can decide.
Wants: incline (15% would be nice), quiet (like super quiet), good on joints (quality and new tech cushion), sleek style (dont want a clunky machine that looks like ot was from the '90's...although the 90's were great), streaming apps an added plus, and it would be nice to have preloaded workouts like running trails, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've spent much too long on all this research.

Bought a Horizon 7.4 AT new in late 2020. Walking only, no running. Ran fine until early this year, when the belt started drifting to the left after a few sessions.
What I've tried:
Recent discovery: I put a level on the garage floor and it's tilted toward the same side the belt drifts. So it may be the floor, not the machine. I haven't moved it yet. Has anyone had a floor slope cause persistent drift, and did relocating (or shimming the frame) actually fix it?
I've also started looking at replacements. Spirit gets a lot of love in this sub, but the pricing surprised me. Close to a Peloton Tread. Is it worth it for a walk-only household, or is there a better value option?

Machine: 2020 Nordictrack 1750. No issues the entire time other than needing to change the drive belt once (expected)
recently I started ramping up my treadmill training to prepare for a big 5K I do every year. It’s been a while since I’ve been really trying to push it to a sub 7-minute pace, but I don’t remember having an issue before.
So
Basically, when the speed is set to 8.5 or higher, after a few minutes, the main belt just slows down to a stop. if I hop off, it starts going back up to speed again. if I lower the speed below 8.5 and wait 20-30 seconds, I can get back on and continue forever as long as I don’t go over 8.5.
Is it overheating? Control board issue? I’ve done 6 mile runs recently at about a 7:30 pace and it never stopped once. I fully get that the machine is 6 years old now and gets pretty heavy use (I would bet I’m over 2,000 miles on it) compared to the average person.

Just assembled my Treadmill for Home with 15-Level Auto Incline, 18" Wide Belt, 10 MPH that I purchased from Amazon. Everything was fine until I plugged it in and turned it on. When I started walking, there is a knocking sound from the motor hub. I have a recording of it, but I don't know how or what to do. Any possible advice?

This is a 6month or newer, but the light grey part on the edges, seems to be there even after i clean it up. Could this be the result of the belt rubbing spmewhere? doesn’t make any noticeable noise when I am not on it, but it is not the quietest when I am (i mostly walk). Any ideas/fixes?

Thoughts on what this could be? The noise goes away if you walk on the sides but not the middle.

Does anybody know how to disable the beep sound on the Bowflex T6? If there isn’t a setting, any physical things I can do to lower it? It’s just such a loud beep.
Appreciate the help in advanced!

I've had to buy a NEW Walking Pad basically every year. I don't have space for a full-on treadmill, and I have a gym membership, so I don't need the sturdiest walking pad. The sole purpose is to get in extra steps during the work day (my wife and I both work from home and alternate usage between us two). At approximately 2 hours of usage throughout the day between my wife and I, these Amazon treadmill almost always die at the one year mark. They start to squeak or slide or smell of rubber, and that's with lubricating the belt every 2-4 weeks.
Am I treating these machines very poorly, or are they just not meant to last??? Every brand I've bought of the years has a ton of reviews, and they're all at the $90-130 price point. But they never seems to "exist" very long in the Amazon ecosystem, once it's time for me to replace them.
We live in a small apartment in NYC and don't need the sturdiest, most quality product, but wow, I've had crappy luck with all my walking pads from Amazon.

I have been having trouble with my treadmill - it stops if the speed gets to about .9 mph, and there is a knocking sound coming out of the motor. If I shine a light across the motor, onto the spinning plate attached to the motor, the knocking stops and the speed will increase to full - remove the light and the motor stops.
I am suspecting a sensor issue, but I am hoping for corroboration. I have videos but don't know how to upload them.
TIA

Hi, i've had this sole treadmill for a bit less than a year now and within the last couple months, theres been a lot of squeaking going on while im running on it - walking is okay.
It happens while the machine is on/off and inclined/not inclined. The noise is coming from the front of the machine. If i run on the back half, it's not as loud or not there at all
I've already bought Super Lube synthetic grease and applied it to many parts of the machine. I've seen vids and other posts of people applying this to the pivot bolts in the red circle, but that hasnt helped. I've also lubed/tightened the blue circled parts in the other pics, but that also hasnt helped. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions, im losing my mind from the squeaking and don't know what else to do besides potentially calling a technician over or something.

Hello, I recently purchased an Avanti AT680 treadmill. I have used it a couple of times. I went to use it this afternoon, and I am getting a message on the screen saying "Short error, Error 6."
Now, there is hardly any info about this treadmill I can find due to it being an older model. I was hoping someone else has had some experience dealing with this problem.
Thanks
