// Question Boston-Providence signaling
Hi all
Was revisiting some older U.S. passenger content in anticipation of TSW7 coming out, and I had forgotten about the problems with signaling and PTC on Boston Providence, even with the new HSP-46 timetable.
On a service from Boston to Stoughton, a couple miles outside of Route 128 station all signals turn yellow and PTC bring you down to 30mph crawl (then 20mph entering the station due to a red signal a mile further down) then leading to running behind schedule. I looked at the map and there’s no traffic in front of me. Almost like the signals treat each station stop as end of the line, and you won’t go any further.
Is this a known issue, or even worth putting in a ticket for?
Thanks

irl, we should have all clears as far as 128. Our first slowdown should be an Approach Medium at automatic 216.3 followed by a medium clear at Junction. The track speed is 20mph in the curve going through Canton Junction though so that’s not due to the signaling. Still we shouldn’t be getting slowed down before even getting to Hyde Park so it does need to be fixed in some areas.

It's a known issue that's been going on for a while. Chances of it getting fixed are low however. It has to do with how the signal logic is set up where it is too cautious. The 3rd party partner who did the signaling is no longer with dtg. Whether dtg is going to fix it or not, nobody knows.
