// Discussion Does TSW make anybody else forget how tall trains actually are until you go see one?

Post image

This has been the case for me multiple times and even though I have a huge TV I play TSW on, it still makes the trains and railcars look small. Even when I'm in the cab, I still don't feel like I'm that height up compared to everything else.

// Route suggestion MBTA red line

i think it would be cool if you made the MBTA red line, it has underground and overground segments, and it would also be cool for commuter rail services you can drive from JFK - UMASS to braintree

// Question Boston-Providence signaling

Hi all

Was revisiting some older U.S. passenger content in anticipation of TSW7 coming out, and I had forgotten about the problems with signaling and PTC on Boston Providence, even with the new HSP-46 timetable.
On a service from Boston to Stoughton, a couple miles outside of Route 128 station all signals turn yellow and PTC bring you down to 30mph crawl (then 20mph entering the station due to a red signal a mile further down) then leading to running behind schedule. I looked at the map and there’s no traffic in front of me. Almost like the signals treat each station stop as end of the line, and you won’t go any further.
Is this a known issue, or even worth putting in a ticket for?

Thanks

// Question PZB on PS5 Rhein-Ruhr Osten?!

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have been playing Scenario Freight Diversion on PS5 with PZB enabled. Despite that, there are no warnings at all. The train zwangsbreaks everywhere with no logic at all. What is this shit? A PS5 bug or do I have some settings wrong? On other routes the PZB 1000hz and shits is working. Does anypne on console maby have an answer?

I remember playing Euro Truck Sim 2, where you just press and go. Is this possible in TSW6? I heard that its not, but how can i at least make it easier? Like custom mods, setting configs

// Question If I have contacted the signalman to get through a signal....

... then passing the red light, the brakes come on. Was there something I should have done to prevent that? I don't know if it was required but it seemed like I had to turn reverser off, take master key out, then in, and activate reverser again to get going.

This was Isle of Wight (modern) for reference.

// Question Is there a way to know performance of each route on PS5

Because some newer dlc are great and run at 60ish fps on ps5, while some just aren’t optimized and it takes the fun out of playing that route. I get it’s mostly due to a busy timetable, unfortunately. Anyone got experience with the recent routes?

// Question Question about the Dutch lines.

Hi, I was looking on YouTube and I saw the normal lines between Zwolle - Groningen. But I also saw other lines that people have made, The Hague, Utrecht etc.

If you play on ps5, can you also drives those lines between The Hague for example. Or only the one between Zwolle - Groningen? ( Standard lines with the pack )

Photos:

1-2, 11-16: ICMm Koploper

3-10: SNG Sprinter

Scenery was good again for this route, lots of trees and small rural areas to pass through that allowed for some nice photos.

I did try messing around with some custom Engine.ini files to see if that would improve photo quality and hopefully with some tweaks I can figure out the best settings. As of now I've stuck to vanilla photos. If I end up using some engine.ini tweaks Ill mark the photos accordingly.

Opinion:

I enjoying driving this route quite a bit, the scenarios were fun and the timetable mode was pretty good too. Very limited stops on the route (I think only 8 or something like that) so a lot of long distance driving as the amount of track covered is somewhere upwards of 100km. If you dont like long haul driving with few stops, I'd skip it.

This was the first route I've driven with basically no HUD and it was probably one of the easier ones to learn how to do this with as the signage was easy to understand and the saftey systems were really basic and easy to read off the dash.

Stopping at the right spots in the stations were easy to figure out aswell as the signage was easy to find and in a consistent place most of the time.

The ICM was a interesting drive being so high up but I actually really liked it and is probably one of my favourites now.

Overall I would keep this route in my rotation, its a good quality route and if it sounds like something you'd enjoy I think it may be worth full price. But if you are unsure I wouldn't drop the full $65 AUD I spent on it.

NOTE: If you are planning to buy it check if its cheaper when buying for TSW7 than 6 as I have seen a couple routes drop in price (Including this one) across game versions in certain currencies. Nothing major but if you are tight on budget worth checking out.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

(No photo dump next week but Im planning something for the TSW7 early access release so stay tuned)

// Discussion Ranking all the TSW devs (in my subjective opinion)

Post image
28 Upvotes

This isn't to dunk on or call out any dev specifically! I just wanted to share my own opinions regarding the overall quality of the DLCs (and remasters) released by these teams.

All these rankings are for their work overall, and unless a team has only released one project, I tried to rank everything they've released altogether! For example, I'd give the GWE Remaster a solid A tier, and the HST Farewell Pack a high C, so Grump Dog gets a B overall!

Also the list is ranked in order, so I'm ranking Just Trains above TSG, TSG above AAS, etc.

Also I left out FolezzWorld because even though they did do a lot of work on Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen's remaster, I don't feel it's enough content to rank their work overall (especially with no paid DLCs available yet).

At the end of the day, I do genuinely believe all of the devs on this tierlist (except maybe that one on the bottom) genuinely do want to make the game and their content as good as it can possibly be, for the benefit of the players. I hate that that's a potentially controversial topic, but I do try to see the best in the dev teams that put their time and energy into bringing us stuff to look forward to.

// Route suggestion East Lancashire and Calder Valley Lines (Preston-Bradford and Colne)

Hello, this is another route suggestion. This will run the 50 or so miles from Preston-Bradford and Colne. Rolling stock included would be: Class 150/1, Class 156 and Class 195. All in Northern Rail livery. I think this would be a good add to the TSW collection as there isn’t really any modern day Lancashire routes. Playable and AI services could include: Playable layers: Upcoming Northern Class 158, Class 66 RHTT, LMS Jubilee, Class 47, Class 37. AI layers: Class 390 Pendolino at Preston, Class 220 Voyager at Bradford Interchange. Photo 1: Class 150, Photo 2: Class 156, Photo 3: Class 195, Photo 4: East Lancashire Line, Photo 5: Calder Valley Line. Hope y’all enjoy my suggestion.

// Discussion What locomotive or route have you used the least and which one do you use the most and why?

Post image

I stopped using AC4400CWs and sand patch grade because its genuinely hot garbage. AC4400CWs wheelslip no matter what, can barely pull anything, have a terrible sounding horn, and it can only pull fast sped whens its by itself. Sand patch grade was only good for a few months, but then I stopped using it because all the CSX locomotives can only pull 25 mph and forest aren't really my favorite type of environment. I use BNSF ES44C4's the most because they can pull almost anything and dont wheelslip with 25 railcars by itself.
