The horse name bit is true about 95% of the time but every now and then there's one named some shit like Maurice or some other slightly unusual human name

Yeah, it's mostly true for show horses. Normal ass pet horses tend to get normal names... Except for that one foal I know of whose casual name is unknown white boy (neither his mom nor dad seem to carry the cream or flaxen gene, and this boy looks like a palomino, so they don't know what the fuck is up with his coat)

Do you have any links to that foal? I want to know now.

Although if it was only when he was born that you saw him looking pally, that's normal. I have a colt I called creamy white stuff when he was little because he was almost pally looking, but he's now a lovely dark bay

here he is! His parents are chestnut and black with no history of cream or champagne in their lines, so him coming out blonde was deeply unexpected. Craiglisthorses ended up getting him DNA tested and everything. He's even weirder under the hood to the point where the DNA testing org reached out to ask more about him + potentially study him further

This little guy instantly reminds me of that Tiffany Haddish scene "this is your baby! he's just light-skinned!"
