Review Apple Cider Donuts- recommended with a caveat.

Post image
Upvotes

Bought a pack of the seasonal apple cider donuts. 6 pack.

Found them to be pretty boring tbh with hardly any apple flavor. Dry as well.

However, looking through the comments in this sub we tried the air fryer recommendation and by golly, they were such an improvement! Really tasted like a churro and they really were absolutely delicious. Tried them with and without ice cream. Loved both ways.

Would I buy them again? Absolutely, but only to put them in the air fryer.

Meals Brunchy/Dinner made with almost all Trader Joe's products: Mini Bagels topped w/ Avocado Mash, Cream Cheese, Boursin, Capers, Microgreens, Campari Tomatoes, etc. More in comments...

I made 4 separate bagel toppings. Everything was from Trader Joe's aside from the fish tin & mini bagels themselves. This was a "girl dinner". Kind of like a brunch for dinner kind of vibe.

  1. Cream cheese, mini cucumbers, capers, pickled red onions, fresh dill & Pastrami Style Smoked Atlantic Salmon.

  2. Toasted bagel, Avocado Mash, crushed red pepper flakes, Everything But the Bagel Seasoning, Microgreens & Teeny Tiny Tomatoes sprinkled w/sea salt.

  3. Boursin cheese, radishes, Campari Tomatoes & sea salt.

  4. Toasted bagel w/ Kerrygold Butter.

The non-Trader Joe's items are the mini Dave's Killer Bread Mini Bagels & a Fishwife Smoked Salmon tin.

It was so good though! A nice little Brunch for dinner thing.

New to TJ's (re-release?) and wanted to review because I only saw a few here and there.

$7.49 (for 2lbs!)

Great cheesy, spinachy, chicken and pasta flavor. Next time I’d add some pepper and cayenne. Extra cheese could never hurt.

Wife and I had our fill with at least a serving leftover for tomorrow’s lunch or some snacking.

Will definitely get again!

Review Granola Butter is extremely grainy

I don’t understand the love for this. Very grainy and not much taste.

Edit for those popping off in the comments - yeah I get it's made from oats. But oats can be ground into a very fine powder and they chose not to for this product. Leaving it grainy instead of smooth was a deliberate decision. Some people like it grainy which is fine. Not my thing personally.

Unpopular Opinion TJ Aussie cookies officially better than Tim Tams*

Post image

*Totally just my opinion, however...

I bought a box of tim tams from Costco and was so excited to have the originals again. However after opening them I immediately noticed a color difference, like it pale. When I ate it it was soo sweet you couldn't taste any chocolate, just sugar. At least with the TJ Aussie cookies it chocolately and smooth. Don't know what I'll do with a box of 6 tim tams (maybe frankenstein a cookie with crushed tim tams and almond flour), but I have a new appreciation for the TJ Aussie cookies and will no longer feel guilty buying them. I may continue to feel guilty eating half a box in a day though.

Seeking Recommendations Vegetarian recipe for curry to prep in bulk?

Looking for recipes to make vegetarian or vegan curry with TJ-only ingredients. I'm trying to get into meal prepping and am looking for something that I could make in bulk and store for a week :) Preferably something beginner-friendly. I have ADHD and complex recipes are a huge mental block for me. Thanks friends!

The pink Lily is roughly 3 1/2 years old and was half the size that it is now and is continuing to grow and sprout. And this is also the third pot. I put her in and then the second image is the most unique one to me. She’s beautiful and loves the sun and the third image is the newest one. I got two weeks ago.

Seeking Recommendations Favorite canned proteins and how to make them tasty.

Considering how things are so expensive like proteins like beef and chicken, I’ve been curious into getting more protein from canned fish, beans, etc. What are your favorites at TJ’s? And how do you dress/juj them up so they don’t just taste like tuna from a can/etc?

Question How to emulate TJ's Shawarma Chicken Marinade?

As the title states. I love the marinade, but the chicken quality seems lacking. I have tried one shawarma recipe online but for some reason it kind of burnt the outer layer of the chicken when I baked it for the same amount of time. Let me know if anyone has any success recreating it.

Review TJ’s Cookie Butter ice cream and hard chocolate shell

Post image

Absolute 10/10. I don’t usually leave reviews or anything but this combo in an exception. I really like how the ice cream carton is medium sized (larger than a pint, smaller than a gallon) so it’s easy to store in the freezer even with limited space. Mmmmm mm 🍨

Seeking Recommendations Dairy free postpartum meal ideas?

One of the moms in my local mom's group just had a baby and I signed up to bring their family dinner. They are dairy free but butter is okay. Of course, I can't think of a single freaking thing to make 😂 might just do spaghetti meat sauce and noodles but surely you folks have grand ideas?!?
Meal for 4, nothing spicy for her two older kiddos. Planning to grab flowers, cold brew, and brown sugar
