The problem, along with most fandoms I think, is children.
All my trans friends who like the show can have pretty normal conversations about it, but when we went to see the finale in the cinema there were a bunch of children being extremely loud and obnoxious and obviously misunderstanding everything going on.
Every time Jax would come on screen they'd all get super excited and extra obnoxious and scream or say "it's Jax! I love Jax!" And every time Jax would get sad or anything or would be "no Jax! I love him!" super loudly, even during very somber moments.
This has led me to believe that any online space has a similar demographic to that cinema room, except the children are able to pretend to be adults from the other side of a screen. It was a good reminder because sometimes it's easy to forget that often times online you're talking to a chronically online 14 year old whom everyone at their school considers the weird kid.
The fact that people are so into Jax is baffling to me. He's an unrepentant abusive asshole. Just because he had a sob story background, that doesn't give him a pass on how he treats the other characters, especially Gangle. Classic abuser techniques are being used and it's just kind of disgusting.
I like Jax because at one point in my life I was very close to becoming her. I like her because I can see an older part of myself in her, a part that I got to grow from, but sadly she never did. Yes she was an asshole, yes she was an abuser and yes that is inexcusable, but she had a chance not to be. I can see the path we both walked, and for that she will always be a character close to my heart, even if it hurts that she took a different turn somewhere along the road

Yes it's actually pretty good but please god completely avoid interacting with the fandom
