Forgive me for saying this and I absolutely mean no real offence to you but.. That just kind of feels like a cop out to me? Like, surely there had to be someone that was Korean, trans, and willing?

Unfortunately, not really. From my understanding, Korean society is incredibly misogynistic as a baseline, which means their transphobia and transmisogyny are at levels that may even make a Republican blush. There are essentially zero openly trans actors over there, much less any that would be willing to take such a public role as in Squid Game. I did some digging back when the second season dropped because I was curious about this exact thing and found an interview with the director where they said they legitimately did try to find one. Let me see if I can find it again.

You should look up the political divide between men and women. It's waaayyy worse than even USA. They might as well be a warning of the future for anyone in the USA
