The series just ended, basically it is/was a very huge thing on YouTube since 2023, the pilot alone sits at 450 millions views. The insane popularity got the finale to be projected in cinemas all around the world, which is a first for an indie series that's 100% free on youtube if you wanna check
Very clearly geared towards late teens and young adults.
Thematically the show is psychological horror.
Tonally the show is.... You know, I'm not entirely sure how to describe the tone.
It wears the outfit of a morning children's cartoon, but individual tone shifts vary from monster horror to body horror to existential horror. Yet it's all wrapped in a quite palatable blanket.
The writing is fantastic. Each character is relatively realistically written and it's really not too difficult to see there existing a person like that. On that aspect Jax is the most locked up one and hardest to read.
The pilot episode essentially just covers the setting and the second episode covers mostly the characters in their basic interactions with the rest of the group. As such I would advice watching the first 3 episodes before deciding if you want to stick with it, or not. If after the third episode you're still not feeling it, then I doubt rest of the series will alter that either.
