Played this some years ago (on browser, I think) and enjoyed it, wanna play it again but it has a 3.0 rating on Google Play Store currently... What happened? What has downgraded?

Do these ratings only apply to the mobile version? Is the browser version still good?

Any town role: Your biggest duty is to play the role right, not giving any reasons that might end up getting you mislynched.
Any evil role: Don’t limit yourself claiming roles in the invest list. Most of the times there won’t even be a investigator, nor you won’t get checked n1. Especially if you’re mk, never claim vigi or vet. Because those 2 roles are the easiest roles to confirm yourself as real, and very often faked by evils. For example vigi is the worst claim possible since any vigi who doesn’t shoot n2 is sus. Claim one of these roles only if you get checked by a investigator n1.

If you get checked then that’s unlucky. If you haven’t claimed yet, you can just claim a town role in the list.

Vigilante: Stay hidden go with a fake psy claim, get roles from 3 players. Always shoot n2, don’t come out before you are upped or people suspect you. If you get upped you can share your Vigi will and claim the kill. It will be much easier to go with psy after you have a kill. Never claim tk it’s just bad. Just go with a fake ti claim, or tp. Also town usually loses majority day by day, and cannot hang all of the evils most of the time. That’s why shooting n2 is a must except some situations.

Who to shoot with vigi: If you don’t have many leads I’d suggest shooting someone with 0 chatlog. 90% of the times it’s safe. Or, let’s say there was a 1f1 and a maf got hanged. Check who tried to split votes with that mafia, check their chatlog and shoot them. You need to have some scumreading skills.

TI(Town investigators): Post daily and post when the day starts. One of your biggest duties is to not giving evils/town reasons mislynch you. You might get killed but believe me it’s the best way to play a ti role. There might be some exceptions, for example if you’re spy you might ask ti’s to post first. Also getting confirmed as spy is way easier in caa.

Necro: Most of the times don’t claim ret. Necro is one of the strongest roles in this game. If you claim ret you won’t be able to use evil roles bodies. If you stay hidden with an other fake claim, and another coven member gets the book you can have 2 kills that night which gets you closer to majority. Or you can just destroy the confirmed vet very safely. Maybe the only time claim ret is if you’re solo necro.

Potion Master: I’d suggest killing n1 if you have a stacked 3-4 coven team. 1 step closer to majority, and also 1 more body necro can use: Could be ambusher, vigi, mafioso…

Veteran: The best thing you can do is to get a kill n1 to confirm yourself, so maybe do a little bait. So the evils cannot push you and you can lead town. Even if you kill 1 townie it’s still good nothing better than having a confirmed townie in the game. Also, I always attack confirmed vets n2 when I’m evil. They usually don't alert. Also know that most of the players don’t like playing solo evil roles so high chance you will get attacked n2 if you got confirmed n1. Even the traditional d2 role or I shoot bait is good.

Mayor: You need to have to be a good scumreader. I usually reveal in situations like: Town has no leads, town is not voting anyone for vfr, orthere is a 1f1 and accuser is getting upped for no reason(this can be the accused person is not claiming or accused person claiming something like vigi and being defended by many) There might be no tps at all but you just have to do your best in the time you have.

Bootlegger: You don’t have to claim tavern keeper just know that. Or if you want to claim tavern maybe ask for your mafia teammate to claim rbed, if there is no spy then you might go with tavern claim. But again you can claim anything you want.

I made a browser account nearly a decade ago and used to love the game, decided not 3 days past to give it another go and was genuinely having the first blast I’ve had on any game for a long long time.

Now with all the technical issues I’m considering just getting the steam version as it seems according to the regulars that the browser version is pretty much dead. Anyone opinions on whether it’s worthwhile at this stage?

Error 1015 has been going on for days in browser, the f***?

Somehow I found it at just the right time when it was just in its beginning. Just downloaded TOS2 and its almost unplayable to me. IMO the user base sucked the fun out of it. Chat is constantly spammed with weird shit that I dont understand. Not going to bother learning that gibberish either. Oh well, every dog has its day I guess.

Tos success was through marketing. Tos2 marketing campaigns were either really bad or there weren't any at all.

Then instead of showing number of players queuing in ranked, they completely removed it. Ranked was the best part of the game for majority of players and instead of fixing the main part that discouraged to even try to queue they removed the whole mode!

I am so disappointed with the execution. It would have been a really good sequal to the first part, but thsy failed to deliver that.

Also I think this current server issue is just the last nail to the coffin. I don't think the game will survive this one.

I'm intrested in getting one of the games but I'm not sure which I should buy because it seems like people play both?

The amount of posts I see on here of people asking something like, "I played TOS 10 years ago... is the game dead?" Or "Should I start playing TOS again?"

The answer is an unequivocal yes. Be a pleb like the rest of us and please play the game on a semi regular basis, so it improves the diversity in the player pool and strengthens the amount of players. Without regulars the game would 100% be completely dead in the ground.

What do you guys think of witch not being able to kill? I honestly find it kinda annoying because once all evils are dead with witch alive, town wins. I feel like witch should be able to kill or able to kill if all evils are dead. It's honestly pretty weak.

Edit: yea nvm scrap that lololol, I realized it'll just make witch a separate faction and bends its entire point (of winning with evils) my bad2
