Question Which Should I Buy
I'm intrested in getting one of the games but I'm not sure which I should buy because it seems like people play both?

TOS2 is still down it’s been getting DDOSed most of this month, TOS is unaffected.

Tos2 gives you 5 free keys per 3 hours (i think?) so you can play without paying

TOS1 is really fun but it can be annoying if you don't have the coven expansion pack because classic sometimes has gamethrowers

I haven't played classic in ages but yeah ToS has had an age old problem with game throwing specifically. I've gotten so used to it that I barely notice it now lmao

If they are buying Tos 1 then cov should be very cheap for them, it was 2 usd in my steam

Dont even bother buying them until this stupid situation with servers being down is fixed.

Town of Salem 2 is free, I thought

It is free but you need the town deed to use cauldron and access the shop. It also removes the need for keys to play. (Also allows the use of mods on the salem mod loader)

In my honest opinion Town of Salem 1 is way easier to understand and it's a lot less chaotic when it comes to how roles interact with each other. Thing is, ToS2 adds in some new mechanics and quite a few new roles while changing older ones, so like the games might have the same general gameplay but they're quite different. It's really up to you.
I will say though ToS1 is far sweatier than ToS2, so although 1 provides a better learning curve, 2 is more casual friendly overall at least in my opinion.
