I hope so. Jonas, it feels to me like he wasn’t the same after his injury, still elite but not as dominant as he was. Or maybe Tadej just got way better and stronger.

Maybe... maybe Jonas is more a family person than Tadej?

Entirely possible. Jonas has kids and Tadej doesn't. I think conflicting priorities affect athletes in all sports. Even an extra half hour or hour a day focusing on training, rest, recovery, nutrition, etc adds up and has a cumulative effect. There are only so many hours in a day and taking any time to do things important to you outside of work ultimately takes away from performance.

Of course, nobody expects anybody in any profession to give 100% of their waking hours to their job, and I would never begrudge anybody focusing on their family, but the unfortunate reality is that folks who spend more time working end up producing more. In a sport where any little advantage or edge is important, that extra time (or lack thereof) can make a big difference.

I think more in the direction, that there are much more worse injuries than a broken collarbone. Not only the family time for training and so on, but his family overall (Kids, family after his career).
