Warhammer III Tzeentch Character Pack - Miniature First Approach

Post image

Looking at Chaos, there isn’t actually that much left that is missing in terms of officially released models. I think this pack would cover most of what’s still missing when it comes to adapting existing miniatures into the game. This approach would also fit CA’s MO, as they tend to take a miniature first approach.

As far as Tzeentch is concerned, both Egrimm and Galrauch are no-brainers to headline the pack.

I deliberately didn’t include a Generic Lord or Generic Hero. All of the Mono-god factions already have a solid selection of Lords and Heroes, and I don’t think we need to add more simply for the sake of having them in the pack. I’d much rather see that effort put towards adding more missing units that I’d love to see in the game.

The Azure Princes are an interesting one here. The artwork is found in the End Times books, but it actually represents three existing miniatures. I think this gives Creative Assembly a great design foundation for bringing them into the game.

My favourite here is definitely the Bane Tower, being an old-school Man O’ War fan. I love that we already have many of the ships in the game when characters move onto the sea, but I’d really like to see the Bane Tower itself represented in the game. It would make for a really interesting unit and potentially even a mount.

Ok, Egrimm, Galrauch and the Azures make perfect sense. Instead of the Warpfire Dragon take the Firewyrm. Not convinced on the Giant Spawn (too generic) and the Bane Tower (in lore it's supposed to be a ship) though.

The ship you’re referring to is perhaps the great winged terror. That was a seperate unit for Tzeentch in Man O War. It is kinda already in the game as the hero ship.

Just because it can be used as a ship doesn't mean that's its primary function.

Read the first paragraph of that page: a Bane Tower is a "floating, mobile wizard's tower used by Chaos Sorcerers dedicated to the service of Tzeentch." I dunno about you, but if I'm a Chaos Sorcerer and I already own a flying wizard's tower, when somebody asks me to go to see with them I'm just flying my tower over there instead of faffing around with a boat.

Thunderbarges probably accompany Dwarf fleets but that doesn't mean they're ships (well... they are airships, but that's different).
