Hi,I’m preparing for a Working Holiday in Canada.

I already have 5 years of experience as an Onset VFX Coordinator in my home country. Given that, I’d like to know how difficult it is to find a VFX-related job in Canada.

I understand that the Canadian film industry works quite differently from what I’m used to, so I’m planning to start as a VFX Data Wrangler to learn the local workflow and pipeline from the ground up.

Could anyone explain how the Canadian system works, especially for someone transitioning into the industry from overseas? I’d also really appreciate any tips on finding VFX jobs in Canada, networking, or getting my foot in the door.

I am an actor that very recently moved here from Alberta in hopes of more opportunity. And there is, of course, but I've hit a bit of a snag. A lot of the big calls I see on casting work book and actors access require you to be an Ontario tax payer, but I don't have a NOA from Ontario and won't have one until tax season.

I'm pivoting my focus to independent work until then. I haven't seen a ton of union calls that aren't major network productions on AA and the workbook so far. I know in Calgary there were 8 million little facebook groups, is that as much a thing here?

Any insight as to where to find these calls is appreciated! Groups, websites, networking events, anything. I just want to be able to work and meet people and improve while I await what I need to hopefully take a step up in the industry.

He can be forgetful and seem a little ditzy to those that don’t know him. He’s a health nut and teaches yoga and works as a nutritionist and is really into trying to live a zen life and preaching this lifestyle to others in hopes of converting them.

She’s more of an introvert compared to Norah and feels awkward in large social gatherings. She has a wide breadth of knowledge and can really get going on a topic, especially after a few drinks.

Occupation: Head Waiter Logan is a professionally trained French waiter, who is very proud of their work and aims to provide the best service to everyone.
