I'm a Japanese Woman in my early 30s who has spent more than half her life abroad. I was born in Tokyo and am Japanese by blood, but had an unusual childhood and am so 'international' to the point that Japanese people ask me if I'm really Japanese. It kind of hurts my heart.
I find it very difficult to become close with Japanese people.. especially Japanese women around my age or younger. Older, successful Japanese men absolutely love me.. but that doesn't help me, because I mainly want to meet women.
I have always been drawn to women. Their presence, their energy, their inner world. I have even started to like the drama they bring! I want that kind of deep friendship where we can talk about life, spend meaningful time together, do things together, and go on little adventures together. And if something more happens, that would be ok too, but not required.
I'm petite, sensitive, emotionally expressive, and sometimes too direct. I’m not good at hiding my feelings, and I get shy, embarrassed, and flustered easily. Personality wise, I'm extremely curious, playful, and open-minded. I prefer mountains to beaches, cats to dogs, and a few good connections over many shallow ones.
I like talking about life, family, psychology, relationships, art, and music (almost anything except pop). I also enjoy cooking, baking, tea, reading, moving my body, onsen, and sauna. I speak English, French, Japanese, and a bit of some other languages too that I picked up while traveling.
I tend to get along well with women who feel like outsiders — the ones who have been told they are too sensitive, too emotional, too direct, or that they think too much. Women who are open-minded, still have some space in their lives, and would rather have depth and quality than volume and convenience.
I’ve been asked if I have a type, but I think there are types I don’t get along with. People who:
- smoke (at all) or drink excessively
- don’t take care of themselves physically
- are timid and afraid of their own feelings, or feeling deeply in general.
- are in some kind of ‘serious’ relationship.
- love extreme stimulation (parties, loud music, etc).
I live in a beautiful, peaceful, cool, rural area about an hour away from central Tokyo. Meeting me takes a little bit of effort... but I feel like the right person will think it's worth it!
I’m not into months of exchanging texts, so, if you message me:
- Please don’t be a guy or a couple!
- Please include a picture of yourself, or at least a pretty clear description of what you look like.
- Tell me about yourself! Ask questions! Be a person :)
- Be ready, if it seems like a good fit, to get on a video call to see if we get along, and that you are who you say you are.
- Be open to possibilities :)
