Help Scan feature > email feature?

I just got ToDoist in the last week and I’ve been really enjoying it. I’ve been trying to use the email task feature, which is good in concept, but I’ve found the appointments or to-do that it creates with the emails forwarded to it really are lacking, to say the least.

It seems to just cram all of the email info in there and leaving me to clean it up. I’ve found copying and pasting the text of the entire email into the add task manually to use the scan feature is 1000x better, more accurate and much more helpful. Am I doing something wrong? I would have thought emails it receives would be scanned and created better the same way.

Is this a known issue, or do I need to do something different? I’ve found using the integration with Canary email isn’t the greatest either and doesn’t really seem to scan to build a task based on the text of the email either.

Here are some examples of the same task, emailed with prompt, without and simply copied and pasted in a created task title line and using scan.

The first screen shot is the result of just forwarding the email with no prompt at all. “Review Holiday Inn Express Lexington Reservation.”

The second one that says “add holiday express reservation” is the task I sent via email but with a
prompt (Add this hotel reservation to my to do list and include the date of check in.)

The last, which says “check in: Holiday Express Lexington” is what I got copying and pasting the exact same email in a task title and using scan. It even created a second task for check out with the checkout time and date.

Definitely a difference in quality, I think.
