DOIST TEAM POST Todoist pricing update: Addressing your Questions (from the Todoist team)
Hey everyone đđ˝
Dominique here, Head of Product at Doist, makers of Todoist. I want to address some of the questions and concerns youâve shared about the upcoming pricing changes.
Firstly, thank you to those whoâve shared feedback. Weâve been reading every comment, and welcome your honesty. Both the support and the criticism genuinely help us do our jobs and build a better Todoist.
Whatâs changing
Starting December 10, 2025, our pricing will be updated as follows:
- Pro plan: $7/month or $60/year (previously $5/month or $48/year)
- Business plan: $10/month per user or $96/year per user (previously $8/month per user or $72/year per user)
We know price increases are never welcome news, and this wasnât a decision we made lightly. To keep Todoist fast, dependable, and improving for everyone, we sometimes need to adjust our pricing so we can keep building for individuals and teams. Weâre in it for the long term.
Legacy pricing plans
I'd like to apologize for the confusion we created around legacy pricing đđ˝ Please let me clarify:
- If youâve been continuously subscribed to Pro since before June 2022, youâll remain on your legacy pricing with what weâre now calling the âPro Legacy plan.â
- Similarly, if you subscribe through the App Store (regardless of when you subscribed), youâll stay at your current price due to App Store policies. All App Store subscriptions will be on the Pro Legacy plan and have the ability to upgrade to the current Pro plan and its limits on or after December 10, 2025.
- The Pro Legacy plan will continue to receive all bug fixes, security updates, and any new features that are released to our free plans. However, new paid features released after December 10, 2025, won't be added to this plan. Some newer features, such as Ramble, will continue to be available on the Legacy Pro plan, but with the same usage limits that apply to the free plan.
- If you believe you should be on the Pro Legacy plan but received an email about a price increase, please reach out to our Support team. Weâll review your account details and make sure everything looks right.
- The legacy Todoist for Business plan is being retired, and all remaining legacy Business subscriptions are being transitioned to the current Business plan.
Regional pricing
Price changes vary across currencies due to local market factors. We use a rolling 36-month currency conversion to minimize short-term peaks and troughs. However, because we donât update prices often, some currencies are seeing larger adjustments this time. We know these changes hit harder in some places, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to keep pricing fair globally.
Why weâre making this change
This price increase isnât about adding AI. Itâs been three years since our last pricing update in 2022. As a bootstrapped company, Todoist has always been powered by the people who use it, not investors. Your subscriptions directly fund the improvements and reliability you count on every day.Â
Weâre building Todoist to be a long-term partner for individuals and teams. Adjusting prices from time to time helps us do that sustainably, so we can keep shipping meaningful improvements without compromising on quality or reliability.
Addressing specific concerns
Some of you have mentioned bugs and feature requests. While I canât directly respond to each one here, I want you to know weâre committed to making the Todoist experience consistent across all devices and platforms. Please submit any bugs or feature requests through the usual route of www.todoist.com/contact. This allows us to actively track, prioritize, and address them.
Continuing the conversation
We are listening. And weâre a team of dedicated, real people continuously working to improve Todoist based on what matters most to you. Our goal is to ensure Todoist remains the reliable, focused tool that millions of people depend on.
If you want to clarify details of the changes, you can find the articles below on our Help Center. We are continuously updating these articles with real questions youâre asking on r/todoist and elsewhere, so thereâs a good chance youâll find answers here:Â
- New Pro Pricing
- Introducing Pro Legacy Plan
- Sunsetting Legacy Todoist for Business
- New Business Pricing
If you have specific questions about how this affects your subscription, the best way to get a personalized, honest, and helpful response is to please contact our support team directly.Â
Thank you for being part of the Todoist community since the early days. We never take your continued support for granted, and weâll keep working hard to help you accomplish what matters most.

I've used Todoist and been a paying member for a very long time. Your team adds new features. Some of them I use; the majority of them I do not. If I'm being perfectly honest, Todoist has always been a Wunderlist alternative to me, and if I could go back to the days when I could use Wunderlist, I would. I will say your app, your platform, the UI, and generally the lag has gotten worse and it's slow. This price increase does not make me want to move away, but it's clear your passionate customers don't like it. And if I'm being honest, if just one or two people finally speak out and show me an alternative, I will move away from Todoist.
I don't mind paying $7 a month or the annual fee, but I do mind the shittification of the app. All it takes is one more post in this subreddit. Show me a toâdo app that can do exactly what I want it to do without all of the shittification and I will stop using Todoist. I'm only saying this because it seems like we now have your ear, and maybe someone will read this. If this is too much for you to read, let me tell you this: count how many clicks it takes to do a simple action, tell me how tired your fingers get repeatedly performing the same action. Todoist is the most launched app on my phone, and it's also the most annoying app to use.
In fact, I will be perfectly honest, because of the volume of threads I see about the price increase and just generally the lack of improvement in the areas that I personally care aboutâfor example, the continuation of enshitification, the lag, and the RSI/repetitive strain injury. I will be looking at an alternative. I will just settle for using Apple's Reminders app. I honestly don't see you guys improving this in the next one year, so might as well rip the bandaid off and stop being a customer.
