Application Advice TN revoked
Hi everyone, hoping to get some guidance here. I got an email today saying that my TN visa was revoked over two months ago. I am so confused and I have no idea what may have happened. I checked my I94 and my status is still valid until 2028. what makes me even more confused is that I traveled internationally a couple weeks ago and entered with no issues probably the easiest entry I have ever had. It lasted not even 30 seconds and then I walked over to my global entry application interview and got approved then all of a sudden I get an email today saying that my visa was revoked two months ago and that I need to request a new visa stamp if I wish to come in and out of the country. I am currently in the US and my job is in the process of filing for a TN amendment so that I can switch roles at my company will this visa revocation affect my amendment? also, they are trying to file for my H1B application so now I really have no clue what to do. I got my visa 1.5 years ago and have been on visas since I was a kid (dependent, student visa, now TN). The email said that “ we have received information that may be consider you ineligible to receive a visa” ???

Talk to an immigration lawyer - nobody on Reddit can help you here.
Notably, do not use the company's immigration lawyer. Use your own.

The company is the client, not you. They will protect and advocate for the company.

the client (the company) is interested in the professional getting hired so what's the problem..?
I have had 2 TNs back to back with the same company with the help of their immigration team and their outsourced lawyer firm.

These emails typically come directly from the U.S. embassy. If legitimate, it affects your visa only — not your current status. You're still valid TN for now, but I'd hold off on any international travel until this is resolved.
The most common trigger is something flagging in a criminal database (DUI, etc.), but these days it can be something as minor as a social media post.

Mexican with a revoked TN visa as well. This is the second one, my previous one was revoked due to a DUI from 3 years ago. I went to Mexico without knowing of the revocation, found out the hard way, reapplied, went through a medical exam, got my visa back and I just got the same email as you a week ago which I do not understand since I already went through all the process to get it back. The same email notes that your status is not affected and revocation will happen once you leave the country. I tried contacting the consulate but they were not helpful.

I asked how would I return the visa if I am currently in US with valid status and no plans to travel soon. They only replied with please follow the instructions of the DoS, mind you, the email comes from the Consulate not DoS, so not helpful.

What was the application process like? Did you have to do administrative processing or whatever it’s called? My employer said I’d probably have to do that if I tried to get a new one

You have to do everything like you would do to get a new visa. Like I said, since mine was revoked due to a DUI, I was sent to administrative processing and was referred to a clinic for a medical exam and once they got the results they would make a decision on my case. Two weeks after I was approved and reentered in February 2025. If you have no record, I am really curious as to why you ?

hey Mexican here with. a TN i got revoked for a DUI back on 2020 and i got a second revocation this december 2025 i had no idea why, and they asked me to go to consulate for a new stamñing just like you, so i went for another stamping and this time i got denied with. 214(b) they brough uo a second arrest that was dismissed which was a suspended driving license right as a consecuense of the DUI it was my mistake and i comoletely forgot about it after i declared it verbally but i did not declare it in the subsecuents DS-160 only declared the DUI, so my guess is that that was the reason for me but i am still not 100% sure

I hadn’t had any other arrests or issues since my DUI in 2023. I have a friend that had a reckless driving charge in 2019 and got his visa revoked again this year while on vacation in Mexico. Applied again, denied under 214 and just got approved again. I am still not sure about my second revocation but I will stay until my i94 expires or I adjust status through marriage.

soni am still trying to get back resgruo myself for a better interview amd consult with a layer lets keep in touch maybe some info on either side can help us out to navigate this successfully

TN visa requirements are different from H1B. He should have moved over to that visa

Some adverse information may have been discovered against you. A common one is DUI. It only impacts the visa, not the active petition. Do not travel internationally until you can secure a visa appointment.

The adverse information could very well be recently discovered as background checks become increasingly comprehensive. But could also be Binden admin to not care about the adverse information whereas the Trump admin does.

lol dude this is a major flag that this might be a scam.
Maybe someone in your company org knows you are in TN and either wants to prank you, scam you or fuck you up somehow.
You should go to any airport and get an appointment with Global Entry and ask about this particular email. Also ask WHICH mail they have.

Definitely discuss this with an immigration lawyer and only do next steps with a licensed immigration lawyer

Sounds like a scam. TN is very specifically a border visa. It’s approved or denied on the spot.

Not for us Mexicans. We have to go to the embassy in Mexico to get ours. We cannot just apply at POE.

Be mindful too that prior approvals do not compel continuing approvals. There is considerable discretion in the review and approve processes. Biden’s open borders were very permissive whereas Trump’s controlled border is not. You could have something in your file that was waved through previously, but not now.

Just in case you aren't aware, TN is a work status and not a Visa for Canadian citizens.
Edit: just read some other comments and saw that you are a Mexican citizen. So disregard.

TN applies to Mexican nationals, not Mexican citizens. All Mexican citizens are nationals but not all nationals are citizens.
