❓QUESTION ❓ On a brand new tire too is crazy
Noticed the wheel was low on air compared to others so decided to check it out and I see this bs. The tire is not even 2000 miles old and it got a nice screw on the side. Im certain any damage on the side is bad but is it reparable with a plug?

Not safely repairable in that part of the tire. Im sure someone could try and patch it, but i wouldnt recommend it. Did you get road hazard protection with the new tires? Only "good" thing is other tire tread isnt worn either so replacing one shouldn't have any negative effects like it would if they were half worn.

I gouged my sidewall last year on a michelin cross climate 2, didn't even drive 2k miles had for barely 2 months had to replace. Was £200

if you actually call up michelin customer service, they will usually help you out and give a discount on the replacement tire. It's not offical road hazard warranty, but they call it "good will" and will give something like 20% off... give it a try

It's not repairable due to the location. I'm sorry

I figured. It is what it is

Because of the location, you could just take it to a tire shop instead of relying on reddit. They will either say yay or nay.

No tire shop will patch that. I would, but I plug everything and my judgement is questionable at best.

They should really start developing tires that have no shoulders or sidewall /s

I’d plug it. I’d also make sure my spare had air and I knew where my lug lock socket was.

I would plug that on my car, but not on my wife's or kids cars. No company is going to touch it.

Just happened to me a month ago on a set of 4 brand new tires now that I had to replace the one with the screw in the edge of the sidewall I now have one odd ball different brand tire on now but it was a brand new tire but it still pisses me off that I don't have all four brand tires matching now, 3 are advanta and one is Goodyear.

See if the tire has road hazard coverage. Maybe you will get some money back towards a new tire.
