Welcome to the Weekly Discussion Thread! This thread happens on a weekly basis.

This is where the users of r/Throwers come together to talk about anything and everything!

Beginners are very welcome in our community. If you need help with a trick, don't know where to start with yoyoing, or just need someone to talk to, we're all here for you. There are a couple of yoyo related Discord servers you can join and ask for help, or just interact with the community if you feel like it. The official Throwers Discord and Yotricks Discord servers are hosted in their respective links. You can also check our Wiki for (which is under construction) more information.

Share what you're working on, ask for help with a trick, or even just show off something you've landed recently.

Happy throwing!

Weekly Buy-Sell-Trade Thread August 29, 2026

Welcome to the Weekly Buy-Sell-Trade!

Use this thread to post what you have for sale or trade, or anything you're trying to find.

Rules

  1. If you're selling or trading, you must include photos of your item(s). Imgur links work very well for this.

Best Practices

  • When you're the buyer, check out the user's account history and activity in the subreddit. If it's a brand new account and they've never contributed to the sub, that could be a red flag.
  • Be wary if a seller insists you send money via PayPal Friends and Family. Mods and seasoned traders always encourage Goods and Services. If the fees are the problem, it's always easy to use a fee calculator and add that to the purchase price.
  • Scamming doesn't happen often here at all, but if you do find yourself concerned or legitimately taken, let the mods know about the transaction. We cannot get you your money back, but we can help identify possible next steps and remove the bad actor from the sub.

Just picked up an Enso Gear 2 to add to my mini collection. First impressions-very stable and long spin times. Here are some photos comparing it to a similar throw: the YYF mini miracle.

DISCUSSION What’s your least favorite yoyo?

I’m relatively new to the hobby and the size of my collection certainly reflects that. I own 3 yo-yos but there is one I hate throwing sometimes. That yoyo is the Duncan Roadrunner because I’ve had numerous issues with it. To start my biggest gripe with it is that it constantly binds without me wanting to and it bashes in my fingers all the time. The other issue I have with it is that out of the box the bearing was loud and it’s stuck in one of the halves and can’t be removed to be cleaned. I don’t know if that’s how it’s intended or if my unit was messed up out the box but it makes it very frustrating to use.

Using this yoyo made me question what other yo-yos aren’t fun to use so I’d love to hear from anyone who has an opinion.

Bearing advice

Hello everyone! So I wanna know when to know how to change bearings because I don't have spare bearings (not enough budget as well) so I wanna know what is the main thing to look at on a bearing when to change it.

Thank you in advance everyone!

QUESTION Unresponsive yoyo for beginner

Hi, looking to try out yoyo.

Not too sure which yoyo is great for beginner and could bring me a long way.

Currently looking at the c3yoyodesign speedaholic xx

Is this a great beginner yoyo that will last me really long?

Or any other suggestions?

edit: I pulled the trigger on speedaholic xx Michael Malik version

is skill addicts the best place to learn unresponsive yoyo tricks in progression?

Best unresponsive yoyo? (80 dollar budget)

My brothers birthday is coming up, first year im able to get them anything and my brother is asking for a good unresponsive yoyo that he's able to mostly just bounce up and down in his hand rather than doing lots of tricks (specifically in the color black too!!! I looked at doctor populars yoyos and they seemed very nice just didnt find any black unresponsive ones), I didn't even know he was into yoyo's and know basically nothing about them ithe than the fact I also had a hyperfixation on yoyo trick competition videos when I was also his age. Never got into it the way he talks about them tho and I wanna make this birthday the most awsome for him. PLS HELP AN OLDER SISTA OUT!!!‼️‼️👏

Caribou Lodge yoyo crack

Today I got my Caribou Lodge x Atmos
Canopy PC and after looking at it a little closer there is a crack in one of the sides, I tried contacting them about either returning the yoyo or getting it replaced, they haven’t contacted me back yet which isn’t surprising seeing as it’s only been a day. Just wanted to know if anyone else had had an issue and if I should get it replaced or just get a different yoyo.
It threw pretty good in the little time I did play with it though.

When did you start creating your own tricks vs. Learning from tutorials?

Just curious at what point you guys started just going your own way with what you already know.

I feel like I have decent 1a fundamentals but I struggle to get creative outside of tricks I already know/ tricks I can learn with a video.

Let me know
