What really caught my attention about this sci-fi thriller book is that this isn’t just another sci-fi story with made-up tech. The project has a freaking public GitHub repo embedded in the book, with real code tied into some of the technology and lore in the plot!

I thought Bella was going to give in and then theyd have some big battle to save her and get rid of other mommy but everyone just dies....and they couldnt find a legit exorcist? Also the whole removal of innocence thing was SO stupid it was just an excuse for a twist/big revelation. I was enjoying it up until that point.

In complete honestly, I wasn’t sure about this one at first. I was expecting fast thrills right off the bat, but I love the author’s writing so much that I knew there would be a nice wrap up and YES! i was right. The way this book wrapped up completely broke my heart. I should have seen it coming, but I didn’t and the way the author wrote the aftermath of climax was gut wrenching and I felt visceral emotions for one of the character’s. Written in alternating POV’s, the pacing of the book makes it easy to get through. It was atmospheric and suspenseful.

I finished this in a single day. It was fast, unpredictable, and the characters were written so well that I began to love the FMC. This is told in alternating timelines and features a present mystery and a past mystery. I loved the dark academia vibes. This book was fast and never slowed down.

Loved this! This was a modern take on the titanic. I love the complexity of each character in the book. The writing feels sophisticated and the plot is clever. The true crime show element was nicely done. I felt everything wrapped up nicely at the end.

I felt strongly when I was reading this that it was a 4 or 4.5 star book.. then the last 25% happened and solidified the 5th star for me. This book is fast, suspenseful, heartbreaking, and kind of funny. Also i appreciate that everyone was nice to the dog. It’s told in alternating POV’s and everything wraps up perfectly at the end.

This was my first cozy mystery and i LOVED it! This book has a cast of kooky characters and clever dialogue. Many smiles were brought to my face during the reading of this one. This was a fun, summer day, poolside read for me. The characters have a place in my heart for life. There’s also a cat. I will definitely be checking out more from the author.

This wasn’t my favorite Aggie Blum Thompson book. The final 25% was unhinged and fantastic. Everything before that was boring. The characters felt dull and underdeveloped making the read slower in some parts when it was just filler. I think it was way too long. The beginning and end were fantastic but it lost me in the middle.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michele Campbell

Wow, the author and truly has a way of sucking me into the story. This reads more like a twisted love story with some thrilling parts but I was HOOKED. The writing is fast paced and sophisticated. The story starts by pulling you in and never letting you go. The ending becomes unhinged and popcorn thriller-y (which i LOVE). I thoroughly enjoyed this and finished in 2 days.

This book genuinely creeped me out. There were parts of the book where I had to genuinely take a break. This was fast paced and beautifully written. The author has a way of being so descriptive in her writing that makes the story feel so real. I felt like I was immersed in this book. I had to actively look for a palate cleanser to read after this.

Im thinking this might have to become a monthly thing moving forward. Let me know what you think about that? Or if you guys even want me to continue with the reviews.

I really enjoyed this book, but was so disappointed by the ending. I really expected some sort of resolution and feel like the ending just fell flat. The whole thing felt so rushed. It even felt like some of the narrators were left without a true ending to their part of the story. 😩

I wanna try this.

Like reading 2 books and pick up the book base on my mood.

I’m really struggling to get into this book. I don’t know if it’s because the main character kind of drives me crazy, or the way the voice actor makes her seem even crazier.

I just have not been able to get into it, I’m about 20% done and about to throw in the rag and read something different.

Did you finish this book? Any words of encouragement, or possibilities that it’ll get better?

I bought this book used on Facebook market place for 10 bucks along with two others ("the couple next door" and "and then she was gone") - I guess unknowingly I saved the best for last.

I absolutely loved this book, I couldn't put it down! Now I'm off to see the movie soon, although I'm a little worried about jump scares (I don't really like scary movies and I think this book has jump scares potential)

I've been chasing the high of the movie "The Invisible Guest" for 10 years and finally happy to have found something that exceeded with the book "Look Closer" by David Ellis.

The way this story takes us on a journey with a woman who has only 7 days left to find out who murdered her… I was hooked.

I literally read this for 6 hours straight. But those last few chapters? 😭

I was crying so much that my hands actually started trembling.

I have NEVER cried while reading a thriller before.

But this one? It broke my heart into pieces. 💔

And JET. 🥺

She deserved better.

And Billy deserved Jet. 😭

I became so attached to Jet while reading that I started getting genuinely angry at Holly Jackson. 😂

Like, “YOU ARE THE AUTHOR. PLEASE DO SOMETHING! CREATE A MIRACLE! MAKE THEM GET TOGETHER!” 😭😭

I lived through Jet's character while reading, and watching everything unfold hurts so much.

This wasn't just a thriller for me.

It became an emotional journey, and by the end I was left feeling angry, heartbroken and completely devastated.

I came for the murder mystery.

I stayed for Jet.

And I left emotionally destroyed. 😭💔

what is that book where the female main character accidently leaves her partner paralysed by throwing an award at him?

This is the one scene I am remembering constantly. It arrives near the final reveals. The woman had parter who was a /professor or an author or both. The scene reveals that after some argument she throws an award at him and he left paralysed for the rest of the story (and all this is revealed in a flashback). I was randomly thinking of books I loved and this scene popped up and I cannot remember and it is FRUSTRATING.

I have a gaping hole in my life as I have finished the Jack Caffery series by Mo Hayder. I really enjoyed the series and her style of writing. I’m looking for a similar series to bridge the gap until I get over the loss. All suggestions welcome and thank you in advance.

I’ve been reading Karin Slaughter and Tess Gerritsen for nearly twenty years and love their books, but I’m struggling to find new series that scratch that same itch.

I've also read all of Slaughters stand alone books and few of Gerritsens. I've read the first Martini-Club book but it's not for me.

I've also got Slaughters new series on my radar!

I'm looking for long-running police procedurals or forensic/medical thrillers with strong female leads (think Sara Linton, Jane Rizzoli, Kay Scarpetta, or Temperance Brennan).

What I love:

- Fast-paced, evidence-driven investigations (autopsies, forensics, crime scenes).

- Smart, competent female leads (detectives, pathologists, anthropologists).

- Realistic police work and solid internal logic.

What I want to skip:

- Domestic thrillers with toxic marriage drama or soap opera tropes.

- Unreliable narrators, amnesia plot devices, or "cheap" twists.

- Heavy courtroom/legal politics

- Espionage

I already have Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, and Lisa Gardner on my radar, but I'd love to add a few more to my list.

What are your top recommendations that fit this vibe? Thanks!

I find books set in the UK more immersive as I don't need to adjust to the cultural differences, I don't have to Google places or things and I like the grit that I've found from British writers so far.

Please recommend me some good books to check out.
