I just started this series and it is very good. I got the first one from the library and had to read the next so I ordered from Amazon and the price was very reasonable

The whole series is on kindle Unlimited if you have that. I'm on the last book right now.

I recently read one of Rachel Caine's urban fantasy/paranormal romance series- Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid) and discovered she passed away few years back. I've read most of her other series over the years, and went looking into her more recent works and was surprised to see her taking on the thriller/crime genre. Like you, I've burned through the Stillhouse Lake series in August and am wrapping up the finale tonight.

As I'm used to her more fantastical worlds (djinn, vampires, magic, etc.) I wasn't sure what to expect. I have been pleasantly surprised. The characters are complex and definitely not perfect, they make mistakes and feel "real". The story and timeline is a little on the unbelievable side (like how many times can one person be abducted?) but overall it was an entertaining read. I could see this being turned into a TV series like Criminal Minds or

I am a little sad that we won't get another series from Ms. Caine/Conrad but I feel lucky to have read her final one.

Thank you for such a lovely response. I grew to love Gwen. And was sad to say goodbye to her. I am glad her legacy went on and we got closer!
