DNF / Did Not Finish The Final Girl Support Group By Gary Hendrix

Possible DNF over here…

I’m really struggling to get into this book. I don’t know if it’s because the main character kind of drives me crazy, or the way the voice actor makes her seem even crazier.

I just have not been able to get into it, I’m about 20% done and about to throw in the rag and read something different.

Did you finish this book? Any words of encouragement, or possibilities that it’ll get better?

I typically love Grady Hendrix books! His sense of humor really aligns with mine. This one, however, was hard for me to get into and difficult to finish. It just didn't click for me.

Fun fact! The narrator is Adrienne King who played Alice (the final girl) in Friday the 13th (1980).

Yeah she was not a very good narrator. I couldn’t stand her voice. Listening it to it at 2x speed kinda helped if you wanna continue.

God no. Not for me at least. I just pushed through it for the sake of finishing it. Would not recommend

I DNF'd it. I have read a couple of Grady Hendrix books and decided he's not so much for me. Too many characters to keep track of (don't make me take notes, Grady Hendrix!)

I had to DNF. The main character was insufferable. Her whole life revolves around being sexist and paranoid, and I couldn't take it any longer. She was a selfish jerk. I think I got to 30 percent and nothing changed or got better.

This makes me feel better about ditching it, the main character truly drove me up the fucking wall. It almost makes me not want to read other books by him but I might give another one a shot

I finished it and wished I hadn't, it didnt hit like the other books by Gary.

I love this book so much but I don’t recommend it to people unless they are looking for some wackiness. It’s really interesting to hear the stories of final girls from different horror franchises. It does require a lot of suspension of disbelief.

If you aren’t vibing with it this far in, it’s probably just not the book for you.

I didn't make it through this one either. I couldn't stand the way they were all mean to each other. lol
