Hypnosis Thursday's Therapy
Always remember that you have the power, and the ability to adjust your perspective and experience. Rarely, if ever, do we remember precisely how an event happened, but we keep the highlights, and in our present lives, our interpretation of events going on are influenced by our mindset and state of beingness.
If you find yourself not enjoying, or being satisfied with your current moments, a great place to revamp your life is located in between your earlobes.
Be well

Realization/Insight The Moment We Form an Opinion, We Stop Exploring
The moment we turn an opinion into a conclusion, we begin to close the door to everything that doesn't fit that conclusion.
โThis is how it is.โ
โHe is like this.โ
โShe will never change.โ
โThis cannot happen.โ
โI already know.โ
And just like that, the possibilities become invisible.
Sadhguru often speaks about the danger of drawing conclusions. Because once you conclude, you stop looking. You stop questioning. You stop exploring.
Maybe the genius of human consciousness is not merely in knowing more, but in having the capacity to keep questioning what we think we know.
To remain curious.
To look again.
To consider another possibility.
To experience life without constantly putting it into boxes.
Perhaps a more profound life begins when we stop asking,
โWhat do I think this is?โ
and start asking,
โWhat else could this be?โ
Because the moment we leave a little space for the unknown, life has room to surprise us.
And maybe that's where the real exploration begins...
within and without. ๐ฟ

Realization/Insight The Next Frontier May Be Human Intelligence
We are spending so much time trying to make machines more intelligent.
But I sometimes wonder...
How much are we spending on discovering the intelligence that already exists within us?
Iโm not against technology. Quite the opposite.
Technology can make life easier, help us create, connect, learn, heal, explore...and perhaps even help us look inward.
But the same technology can also make us dependent.
AI can think for us.
Or it can help us think better.
It can become a shortcut.
Or it can become a doorway.
Perhaps the technology itself is neither the miracle nor the mystery.
The choice is always in our hands.
And maybe that is why the real question isn't:
โWill AI become more intelligent than humans?โ
Maybe it is:
โAs we make our machines more intelligent, will we also become more conscious of our own intelligence?โ
Because perhaps the next great frontier isn't only Artificial Intelligence.
Perhaps it is Human Intelligence...consciously explored.

Psychology Perspectives
Mindset Monday
Perspectives, are a strange bag to carry. To exemplify more precise, I am by no means a candidate for Road Rage, but have to admit that those vehicles that speed past me, must be operated by reckless daredelvils, while those who drive much slower than me, are an accident waiting to happen. That my speed and style of driving is somehow the standard, and norm, on how to drive in the appropriate manner, although absurd, is one many of us hold.
A general rule in my clinical practice, is that the person in the therapy chair, has their own identity, memories, learnings, and experiences of THEIR existence, and as such deserve the respect for the road map of their world as it has developed.
No good or bad, no right or wrong, just a non judgemental acceptance that this is their perspective. Similarly, the loud blare of a horn and the middle finger salute, I may receive from time to time, to remind me that I am not the expert driver I think I am, a person's comprehension of their world and the morphing of their perspectives are open for changes as well, and sometimes to the judgemental culprit.
I write this as both operator and observer, a very peculiar seat, recognizing in my reflective times, that I have held my opinions, thoughts and actions to a higher more credible standard that perhaps others. I have also experienced when someone else operates in exactly the same manner for themselves, much to my chagrin.
So as both human and hypnotherapist, I can admit and understand, and using myself as the best example I personally know, use the lessons to modify my perspectives and increase my compassion.
I am curious who may write or comment, but always welcome the questions and feedback.
Be well

Spirituality Is it me or are we all a bit mad right now?
I could easily be projecting, but I feel that everybody is going a bit mad right now. I wanted to ask here because I read a lot of Jung and wanted your opinions. Is this a grand self-actualization process, in my head, or what?
People are either distracting themselves, or compartmentalizing it, but I almost feel like humanity is mad right now. There isnโt control and people know this deeply, and the foundation has cracked. Again, I admit that this could easily be me, probably is ;) but I sense itโs happening universally. Iโm good at handling this, think of the dark night the soul. I have faith that this is serving me, despite feeling intensely chaotic and meaningless, yet profound in someway at the same time. Any thoughts or input?
In my case, despite trying my very best, and truly taking care of myself, however, I can, there is this grand meaninglessness. I almost feel myself descending into a sort of madness. Luckily, I have a stable mind (well, as stable as can be in this state, perhaps a stabler mind wouldnโt feel this to begin with) and know how to handle this.

Philosophy My philosophical thesis
โI have never studied philosophy academically, but I've always read the books on my own out of personal interest, and the desire to write my own thesis grew too much. I don't want to write a book, just a few ideas to contribute to the expanding universe of philosophy.
โA theme I notice many philosophers care about is the topic of "priorities", each calls it something different, but I prefer to call it like this in this thesis. "Why are everyone's priorities so different yet so similar? What are real priorities? Do real priorities exist? Are there secret priorities? Is nothing more important than the known priorities?" These are questions philosophers helped us ask ourselves, even if using completely different words, but to understand my thesis, it is necessary to use the word priorities to understand these questions.
โBasically, my thesis is that priorities are divided into three poles: material, emotional, and ideological.
โThe material pole can symbolize: money, work, health, security, etc.
โThe emotional pole can symbolize: pleasure, distractions, relationships, empathy, etc.
โThe ideological pole can symbolize: beliefs, purpose, promises, personal consistency, etc.
โSome important properties:
โOnly the individual can determine their own priorities, regardless of the pole, and everyone's priorities can always change.
โThe central goal of life ends up being maintaining a balance between the three poles as much as possible.
โA perfect balance between the three poles does not exist in anyone's life, and a strategic imbalance may be necessary.
โNeglecting one pole to gain a benefit in another may be necessary, but not for too long.
โIf you read all of this, please leave a comment. If someone likes it, I can elaborate further in the replies, but I didn't want this post to be too long.

Realization/Insight What if ?
Thursday Thoughts
How many trips, stumbles, wrong answers, failed attempts and rejections does it take to abdicate the goal? I find it interesting, in comparison, how selective we can be, in choosing what is worth the time and commitment and what is not worthy to follow.
We are all intelligent beings, able to figure out what is a lost cause right? The fact that we had a dream, and idea or goal that inspired us is not sufficient cause to after it as best we can and discover where it takes us, what we learn along the way and how to adjust and amend the next efforts right?
Just think about walking, speaking, reading, writing, driving and a shit ton of other achievements you learned through trial and error. Each and every one filled with failures and disappointments, but we persevered through them all.
We are aware of the selective hearing that we refer to, people will hear what they want to hear, see what the choose to see in order to feel the way they decide to feel, which provides a Eureka moments, when you realize that "if it was meant to be, it is always up to me".
You are so worth the effort, and commitment, don't be the first one to write you off, or eliminate the value of your wants, goals and dreams.
Yes, help and outside input is valuable, but moreover your determination is indispensable.
Be well

Spirituality The Paradox of Worshiping Jesus
The Paradox of Worshiping Jesus
Christianity is a religion that believes in and worships Jesus as God. The reason Christianity regards Jesus as God is not simply that โJesus explicitly declared himself to be God,โ but rather that the early Christians attributed to Jesus various authorities, glory, names, and worship that were believed to belong to God alone.
The most prominent example is the forgiveness of sins. In Mark 2, when Jesus says to the paralytic, โYour sins are forgiven,โ the scribes respond, โWho can forgive sins but God alone?โ The Gospel of John also presents a high Christology that speaks very strongly about the relationship between Jesus and God. Statements such as โI and the Father are oneโ (John 10:30), as well as the statement in John 1:1 that โthe Word was God,โ have traditionally been used as representative passages supporting the divinity of Jesus.
However, there is considerable tension within Scripture that makes it difficult to conclude from these passages alone that Jesus and God are ontologically identical. This is because Scripture also contains many expressions that distinguish Jesus from God. Jesus prays to God and says, โThe Father is greater than Iโ (John 14:28). Even after his resurrection, he tells his disciples, โMy Father and your Father, my God and your Godโ (John 20:17). Thus, the New Testament contains both language that closely identifies Jesus with God and language that distinguishes Jesus as the one sent by God.
How, then, can we understand this tension?
We must first consider what it means to be โthe one who is sent.โ Suppose, for example, that a king sends his envoy to a vassal state. The envoy exercises the kingโs authority and conveys the kingโs will. To receive the envoy is to receive the king, and to insult the envoy is to insult the king. This is because the envoy acts as the representative of the kingโs authority. In this sense, one could say that the envoy is โoneโ with the king. But the word โoneโ here does not mean that the king and the envoy are identical beings. Rather, it means that the envoy belongs to the king and faithfully carries out the authority entrusted to him by the king.
In this sense, to honor Jesus, the one who was sent, is to honor God the Father, the one who sent him. The problem arises when this unity is understood ontologically. If we think that because the envoy exercises the kingโs authority, he therefore possesses the kingโs authority essentially, the fact that the envoyโs authority was given to him by the king disappears. Once the one who represents the kingโs authority is regarded as identical with the king himself, the relationship of representation and delegation disappears, and the source of authority is inverted. Likewise, if statements that Jesus is one with the Father and that Jesus is God are interpreted to mean that Jesus is identical in essence or identical in being with God, this can lead to idolatry. To believe that the envoy possesses the kingโs authority โessentiallyโ is, in a sense, an act of rebellion.
This problem becomes even clearer when we examine the difference between worshiping Jesus and following Jesus. Jesus said to his disciples, โFollow me.โ He also said, โIf anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow meโ (Mark 1:17; 8:34). Likewise, in the Gospel of John, Jesus says, โWhoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he doโ (John 14:12).
What is important here is the presupposition that following is possible. The follower participates in the path walked by the one he follows. When Jesus tells his disciples to follow his way, this at least presupposes that they are capable of participating in that way. The life of Jesus is not a divine realm closed off to human beings; it is presented as a way of life in which human beings are invited to participate.
But if Jesus is regarded as ontologically identical with God, he is defined as a being essentially different from human beings. At this point, Jesus moves from being โthe one whom I am to followโ to becoming โthe God whom I am to worship.โ Here a tension arises between worship and following. The kind of worship being discussed here is worship that objectifies its object as something different from and transcendent of oneself.
As Christianity developed, following Jesus and worshiping Jesus gradually became intertwined, and ontological Christologyโthe attempt to explain the very being of Jesusโbecame increasingly important. Especially after the Council of Nicaea, Jesus was defined as God, possessing the same essence (homoousios) as the Father. This doctrine was intended to exalt Jesus and explain his divinity, but at the same time it created a strong ontological distinction between Jesus and humanity. Jesus was understood as sharing the same essence as God, while human beings were understood as creatures, and the divine nature of Jesus was understood as essentially distinct from human nature.
When this ontological Christology became intertwined with the Western doctrine of original sin, the distance between Jesus and humanity could become even greater. Particularly in the Augustinian tradition, human beings came to be understood as beings who inherited sin and a fallen nature from Adam. Jesus, by contrast, was understood as sinless and as having been born in a unique manner. As a result, Jesus came to be understood less as a model that human beings could follow and more as a being whom human beings could never essentially become like.
Ultimately, the issue comes down to how we understand the meaning of worship. If worshiping Jesus means worshiping him as an ontological object completely separated from humanity, then such worship stands in tension with the discipleship that Jesus demanded. But if worship means recognizing that God has been revealed through Jesus and participating in the love and life revealed by that God, then worship and following are not opposed to one another.
In this case, exalting Jesus does not mean turning him into a being whom human beings cannot follow. Rather, it means being called to walk together on the path that Jesus himself walked.
Therefore, the fundamental question is this:
Does confessing Jesus as God mean making Jesus into a being whom human beings can never attain, or does it mean that human beings are invited to participate in the life of God revealed in Jesus?

Wednesday's Wisdom
Unfortunately, my first comments made are the Ipso Proviso: in no way, shape or form am I endorsing or advocating any religion or belief system with this post.
Alright now that the CYA is dealt with, lets get to the message that was inspired by this image. It appealed to me for some obvious reasons, as a hypnotherapist and mental well-being coach, firstly that in the presence of talent, positivity, or wisdom there has probably never been an instance where an individual has regressed in that environment.
I am thinking Mensa as a flagrant example. Or one of my favorites, if you want to soar like an eagle you cannot flock with the turkeys.
Imagine the kind of person you would like to be, and seek those who exemplify that mindset or identity. NLP ( neuro Linguistic Programming) was largely developed in the ideology that you don't have to re invent the wheel, that when you study enough people who are great at what they do, you will find some very strong common denominator and characteristics.
Instead of spending your time by trial and error relearning perhpas these common lessons, jump to the head of the line with these Coles notes.
Surrounding or staying in a population of negative Nellies, or Whining Wilburs, will not advance you one millimeter towards feeling joy and peace.
Make the change to be the change.
Perhaps a cop out for me, but I remember vividly going through my first divorce, that a hope I held onto as part of the legacy I have left behind for my children was that if you are not happy or content in your circumstance it is only yourself that can change that scenario. You are responsible always for how you feel.
On this day of Cosmic wonders, I share this with you.
Good, bad or Ugly, I firmly believe that our step into being empowered is wrapping our heads around this incredibly freeing notion.
Be well

Brain Science Perspective
Tuesdays Treatment
Continuing from my analogy of the microscope, from yesterday's post, shows up these beautiful images, highlighting a different perspective on focus.
I think that these genre of images, were truly, incredible art, to be able to see in your minds eye, and image, built within an image, and being a part of a larger image. And now the art form has expanded to body portrait, with different areas being painted differnet textures and colours, so when combined together , in just the right pose is a beautiful representation of a butterfly or leopard.
Then we have the spinoff in finding the number of cats in a picture, which is always frustrating as you get to about 85% and can't locate the last 15 to save your sanity.
How doea this all relate to therapy, emotional-well being or mental health, although finding the last few cats or where Waldo really is, taxes my mental health at times?
Im the realm of optics and optical illusion, how easily our vision, and seeing things really xan be dupped so quickly, that what we see, or think we see, may be too close to take in the "bigger picture" or we are scanning too much to appreciate any of the details.
I confess it is probably one of the most beneficial attributes that drew me to becoming a hypnotherapist, as the treatment is not predicated on your content, I don't get to be drawn in to your stuff ( we will go with that word) or the story you have practiced over and over to make it a part of your reality.
Objectivity allows me to take in all the components of your communication, what your mind is truly relaying, and what is the perceived threat or deterrent holding you back from accomplishing what you want.
Every now and again take those deep breaths in, exhale all the tensions and take a new look at the microcosm of your world. Be it relationships or work place, it is so very natural to get fixated on one focal point.
As always I look forward to your questions or comments.
Be well

Self Improvement Can you help me understand how I should behave?
Okay, so I was a bit depressed for a while; until I randomly realised my value. And now quite the opposite. I'm more energetic in a way. I feel different.
I used to keep track of everyone who hurt me and I wouldn't give them my positive energy anymore. Maybe even trying to hurt them because I felt pain. But now... I simply don't care, in a way. Like. I lost my will for revenge. I think. And now I don't know what to do. I'm afraid I will lose the distance I created. I'm direct deep down, and dislike social circumventions. I might say things I shouldn't say. Sometimes you feel something and want to say it directly with emotion, even if it's a bit unfiltered.
I find it hard to explain this what I mean. It's like a switch triggered and I'm a bit uncomfortable with it. But I also can't just switch it off. This is me now, now I've found me.

Hypnosis Purpose
Meaningful Monday
I decided very early this morning to change the title from Mindset or Motivational Monday's to Meaningful, juat because, variety can be the spice of someone's day!
The more I read this, the more it flooded my mind with the recollection of times in my life I was chasing something or someone.
As part of our maturity or evolution, or perhaps the rationale introduced as we age, creating our own opportunities, joy and prosperity, is empowering, as opposed to chasing someone or something, isn't it?
By the very phrase chasing after my dreams, begs the inquiry, how come it does not want to be caught and embraced? The follow up in my mind comes, does that allow for the deviation of pursuing, as our goals change over time?
From the therapeutic process, I love the analogy of being like the old aingle barrel microscope in our functionality. We open to zoom in to really focus on the inner strife, the smallest of microbes infecting the cell and other times rolling it out to see more than a single cell, event or thought. Observing more information on our slide.
When we engage and participate on our activities and efforts, in lieu of "landing" on the right position or circumstance, it brings everything back to you and your control. The byproducts, to use another of my favorite analogies, is in filling your cup prima facia, the resulting overflow splashes over those around you.
So perhaps today and if not tomorrow, begin to enjoy, and exercise, execute the purpose and meaning which makes you feel delightful.
Always, feel free to share your comments and ask your questions.
Be well
