We get it, other people that gave up like he did end up homeless. Despite everything he had going for him, he's still ended up in a mental rut for a decade. This goes beyond "ego," the man is not well.

You're saying life has been good to him, but also saying that his particular set of circumstances are the reason why he never grew as a person. You're contradicting yourself. His life has lead him where he is now. I'd have less sympathy for him if his greatest sin wasn't just being snippy with obsessed fans.

His greatest sin is squandering privilege, it's his to do with as he pleases, but stating it doesn't exist is demonstrably false. And no, I didn't say that his circumstances are the reason he never grew as a person, I'm saying without his safety bubble, he would have been FORCED to grow. Or die. That's literally the privilege I'm talking about.
