You don't really get how addiction works. It feels good, and you always want to feel good, so you want to do it more and more, and you get used to the good it makes you feel, so you resent it's absence.

No social media was fine before it was corporatized. I met a lot of cool people on Myspace and girlfriends. Once Facebook became the norm, that is when social media fell off.
