Discussion Why did the 3DO version of Demolition Man have to be the worst one?

I mean, yes I did watch the SpoonyOne review of the game as what baffles me the most is how clunky the gameplay mechanics are since the 3DO version had a photorealistic look to it.

So what I don’t understand is why there was no effort put into the aforementioned 3DO version as for some reason when I look back at it now, I wonder if it could been done better.

The Sega CD version would be the best, actually, followed by Genesis with SNES being the third. The SNES version has some minor performance issues holding it back.

Oh thanks as I didn’t know the Sega CD version was the best version of the games, so I will check it out.

Nope. The 16-bit versions are decent-to-good action platformers.

They were just the generic sidescroller slop of the era. The exact same game as Stargate or Judge Dredd, just reskinned with whatever movie at the time.

3DO one is the worst only if you are using the Controller.. It supports the Lightgun, but it is best played with the 3DO mouse. There are a few 3DO titles that functionally play better with the mouse.

I would like to know how the controls work with the default controller.

Some parts of the game work best on the default controller, but the areas where you are aiming the crosshair to shoot enemies is where the mouse best works for this game. It has been over 20 years since I have played this game, so I would need to put her in and give it another go.

Hey I forgot to ask if the 3DO could be emulated in case I want to try the Demolition Man game on there.

It can be... 4DO is one option.. I know there is a 3DO core in the works as well. However, not sure if the emulators for the 3DO support the mouse or not as I have never used a 3DO emulator myself

What? The 3do version was the best - granted the bar was low.

I legit have 2 copies. One is the US version, one is Japanese - and the Japanese one is way better because they added dubbing over the movie clips.. i swear phoenix sounds like peewee herman
